Preschoolers with the Baby Blues

A while back, I was the nanny for a three-year-old boy whose mom had twins. When she first got home from the hospital with the babies, we were all amazed at how unreservedly sweet Thomas was to his new baby sisters.

On day three we learned the reason for his lack of jealousy. One of the newborns was squawking in the other room and he turned to me and announced, “I’m ready to take the babies back to the hospital now.”

A godmother on Babble’s Kids Say the Cutest Things has a hilarious new sibling story of her own: “My 4 year old goddaughter (who has a new baby at home) had the honor of opening the last door on the advent calendar at her preschool. Upon pulling out the baby Jesus sleeping in his manger she announced, 'UCK, the baby Jesus! I HATE BABIES!'"

You know your kids are at their wit's end when even an inanimate baby Jesus is intolerable.

Does anyone know where to get the bath seat in the photo?  I had one with my son 7 years ago and loved it.  I loaned it out and never got it back and would love it for my new baby.

I was on rest for 6 months with my last pregnancy and my 9 year old daughter actually asked me if the baby was worth it.  New babies can stress out even the sweetest big sisters and brothers.

When my little brother came home, I wouldn't talk to him for a few days because I was so disappointed he wasn't a sister! Even 24 years later, I still remember it. :)

my 3 year old cant stand my 9 month old. Since the day he was born he would leave the room anytime the baby was there. It makes me sad.

leahsmom, I was the opposite. I tried putting my baby sister in the milkbox on the porch because my parents let me convince myself I was getting a little brother. They knew she was a girl, so they even told me I could pick out his name!
