Octo-mom Art!

Posted by SunnyChanel

It was only a matter of time before artistic effigies of Octomom would make their debut.  The artist Daniel Edwards is known for his bizarre pop culture sculptures like his sculpture of Britney Spears giving birth to her son, a bronzed tribute to Suri Cruise’s first poop and an Oprah sarcophagus. Yeah, to say the pieces are merely ‘odd’ would be an understatement.

For his newest masterpiece, he used Octomom as his muse. In his Pepto-Bismol pink piece titled “String of Babies', holds a baby bottle upright,” Edwards created a bust of Nadya Suleman’s head with octopus tentacles reaching out to embrace the eight heads of her octuplets.
Would you want this piece of “art” in your house?

Britisher Daniel Edwards just copied his OCTOMOM toy from the ancient Art and Culture of Native American STORYTELLER FIGURINE's .

Among the most charming developments of the Southwestern Indian artist is that of the STORYTELLER FIGURINE, an adaptation of centuries-old creations in figurine pottery. Cultural traditions and values have historically been passed on by tribal elders through songs and stories geared to teaching the young. It is in these delightful representations that the intense love of the Indians for their children is most clearly shown. Created from the same native clays as other pottery, STORYTELLER FIGURINE range in height from approximately 2 inches to 10 inches.

The lips are too small, which is somewhat frightening. I love the sculpture, although I couldn't imagine having such a thing in my house.
