School’s In Session for Boys Who Want to Be Girls
It has all the trappings of your standard posh finishing school for girls. How to walk in heels and talk like a lady. Just like your standard finishing school – some of the students need a lot of help. Former porn star Mary Veronica didn’t hide her light under a basket when she opened Miss Vera’s Finishing School for Boys Who Want to be Girls.
What started as a place for men with a taste for lady’s garments more than a decade ago is now attracting older teen boys who have an itching for a pair of women’s underbritches. Along with her older male clients, the teens can sign up for the sudden beauty makeover (complete with wig transformation, make-up instruction, body sculpting with corsets and ensemble instruction) or spend two days on “campus” in New York City getting the whole “Cinderfella” experience. They’ll be hailing a cab in a pair of f— me pumps in no time.
The forty and up crowd is still keeping Miss Vera in her pearls and tutus, but I’m heartened to hear she’s giving the younger set a window to a world they want to explore. Transgendered teen boys (or teen girls for that matter) are nothing new, nor is the news that they’re still struggling for acceptance. Their peers label them as homosexual (although studies have shown a greater number of transgender kids say they’re straight) and mothers are often uneasy about teaching them the basics they’d readily teach their daughters.
Instead of making them flounder about in that tween stage of development most women shudder to recall, Miss Vera’s can provide boys a place to learn how to do what they will eventually do on their own . . . without the awkward missteps of foundation that’s a hint too orange and rouge a touch too red.
It’s their world, Miss Vera just helps them live in it.
