Would You Ditch a Pro-Gay Blog Mama?

A friend of mine wrote a heartfelt, personal rebuke of a proposition in California that would ban gay marriage, and what does she get for merely voicing her opinion?

Readers began unsubscribing themselves from her blog.

I get that people disagree on this issue -- but have we reached such a cultural schism that we no longer tolerate even talking about tolerance? I'm hopeful for tonight's election, but man, I am so ready for it to be over.

Some people are uncomfortable talking about their intolerance and bigotry.

I love the reasoning that 'traditional marriage between a man and a woman should be protected.' to quote one person as to why they would be against same sex marriage. Is that to say that when gay marriage is legitimized that that will somehow diminish 'traditional' marriages? Hopefully someday all marriages will be seen in the same light, and I hope to think that all marriages are based on love & mutual respect of one another regardless of gender, religion, etc.

Yeah, that stinks.  But people don't really read blogs to expand their world views.  I'm reading this now, aren't I? :)

I'm subscribing to their blog because I loved that piece. So while they are losing a few bigots, they are gaining at least one non-bigot.
