Is The Incredible Flying Baby Video Real?

Posted by Brett Singer

The jury is still out, but many are saying this video (via BoingBoing) is phonier than a campaign promise. Take a look and see what you think.

At first, the swinging doesn't seem so bad. Then the "Sporty Babysitter of the Year" (as he was called on the original site this video was on, random-good-stuff.com) gets into some major league Flying Baby action. In general, most are freaked out by the vid, saying that even if its fake, it's a little nauseating. Another BoingBoing commenter had a different take: "I'm horrified, but there's something that I can't help but love about this." Bottom line: don't try this at home. Ever.

So – real or fake?

It looks real, but it has to be fake... right?  No one would seriously risk dislocating a baby's shoulder like that... right?  I agree with the "nauseating" verdict; I had to turn it off at the mid-way point.

And I have to go lay down now.

nauseating and dislocating a shoulder should be the least of their concerns.

What about brain trauma, shaken baby syndrome?

Idiots!

I really hope it's fake, but is sure does look real. If it's real, I hope authorities are involved because that baby is at risk.

Okay, I have it on good authority from someone who knows all about this sort of thing that the baby was wearing a harness that was masked out of the video.
