
Yup, it’s official. The kids have made their voice heard and decided who they think should be the leader of the free world. On Tuesday, the Scholastic Presidential Election Poll results were announced. And the kids, they know a thing or two. Since 1940, the participants of the poll have been right every election except twice (In 1948 Truman won over Dewey and in 1960 Kennedy won over Nixon). Who did they pick? Barack Obama. Obama got 57 percent of the vote, and John McCain got 39 percent.
The poll was conducted across the country with pert near 250,000 kids from first to twelve grade voting via a paper ballot of from Scholastic’s website. Who was voted for besides the two main contenders? Why people like Stephen Colbert, Miley Cyrus and any or all of the Jonas Brothers.
