1st Pregnant Man Appears to Have Lost the Baby Weight!

Posted by Madeline Holler

Check out the world's first post-partum Dad with his  new baby and wife Nancy. Thomas Beatie and the fam. have appeared in public for the first time since the new dad's much talked about pregnancy and birth.

His daughter, Susan, was born at the end of June. And is it just the angle or is he back in his pre-pregnancy jeans? Jealous!

Thomas, who is transgendered but retained his female organs, had a 40-hour labor and had a vaginal birth attended by a midwife. Now, this article doesn't go into detail, but Nancy -- Susan's mom -- is breastfeeding her. Nancy, 44, has two kids from her previous marriage ... so maybe she just reactivated her lactation? Anyway, I'm curious about that.

But they're a happy, healthy little family according to the report.

I am so tired of this making the news.  A man did not give birth.  A transsexual gave birth.  I hope this family raises their daughter in peace with no more publicity. She deserves to be raised by her parents with no interference from the media.

Taking testosterone shots will make you put on muclse mass and lose fat quick.  Madonna uses it a lot of celebs use it. This is not a man but a biological woman on male steroids.

I think it's kind of nice that one member of a couple can carry a baby, and then the other can breastfeed. Also, yeah, I'm jealous of that flat stomach on anyone who recently gave birth. My twins are almost 2 years old, and I'm not back in my pre-pregnancy jeans yet.

I think that while it is obvious that he is physically a woman, the point is that he considers himself a man (albeit trapped in a woman's body).  It would be nice to get past gender at some point and just be able to say, "Look at that nice, caring couple and their new baby."

As for the breast feeding question, with a bit of work a woman who has never given birth can breast feed. An option for adopting moms.

I'm all for "Look at that nice, caring couple and their new baby."  What I am sick to death of is the obsession with celebrity (even the most minor of celebrities) post-baby bodies.  Who cares what anyone's belly looks like after pregnancy!  It has absolutely nothing to do with what sort of a mother you'll be.

Or, uh... father.  As the case may be.

Ummmm....... I wasn't referring to hormones "by a little bit of work" but who knows? Just don't want other moms to think hormones would be required, only pumping.
