What's Next, Shock Collars For Your Kids?!

Posted by Cole Gamble

Pet owners may be familiar with the Invisible Fence. It’s the pet system that sets up invisible barriers for your dog or cat and shocks them if they leave the boundaries.

And now you can get Invisible Fence for your child.

Sort of.

The Brickhouse Wireless Child Locator informs you when your kid has left the “safety zone.” The homing tracker will even lead you to the absconding scamp. There is no shocking involved.

Yet.

And how does this little toy know where your kid is? You embedded a chip under your kid’s skin. A little 1984-ish, but isn’t totalitarian control over your child worth it for their safety, and the safety of Oceania? After all, you don’t want the thought police to come knocking.

holy crap, people, just watch your freakin' kids! Why is this so hard? I have a 1 year-old. I know she'll be taking off at break-neck speed every time her feet hit the ground, and I keep her in sight whenever we're out of the house.

...incidentally, I know somebody who had their DOG implanted with one of these, and it stopped working. Never found Sparky, either.
