Schools in Lockdown As Hillary Clinton Campaign Office Stand-Off Continues [UPDATE]

Posted by Madeline Holler

Schools near downtown Rochester, New Hampshire, are in a full- or soft-lockdown this afternoon pending a hostage situation in Hillary Clinton's downtown campaign offices.

Some of the schools are releasing students only to their parents this afternoon as an extra precaution, while the rest of the area has been evacuated.

Around 1 p.m. today, a man in his mid-forties entered the Clinton campaign offices, opened his shirt and exposed what appeared to be a bomb strapped to his chest. He ordered the two campaign workers to the ground and released the only other person in the office, a woman with her infant. The mom ran into a nearby shop, explained the situation and they called authorities.

Two hours later, two hostages were released, unharmed. The hostage-taker remained in the building.

UPDATE: Two hostages remain inside the building as authorities work for their release.

More information is posted on the Political Nanny blog, where we will also be posting updates until the situation is resolved.
