Britney Spears Makes Formula Feeders Look Good

britney-spears-pepsiI am stuck squarely in the middle on the breastfeeding vs. bottle feeding debate. I had two babies at the same time, so I did both. Both of my babies nursed and drank formula from a bottle. Rachael took a lot of flack for her post about formula feeding last week, but this ought to really piss of the La Leche League. Britney Spears gives her kids soda out of baby bottles.

Us Weekly (which you apparently have to subscribe to in order to actually read the article online) reported that Britney gave Sean Preston soda in a baby bottle. So now beyond violating safety, traffic, obscenity laws and good taste in general she is doing terrible things to her children's teeth.

Awesome.

On behalf of all moms feed their kids McDonald's and let them have pacifiers until they are three years old, I'd like to thank Britney for making us look like much better parents.

If Britney Spears is the yardstick, then we're all a lot better than we think we are. Although I think it's a silly comparison, I do admit I was hoping my marriage would last longer than both of hers combined, and now that Fed is Fed Ex, it has.

I'm sorry but that Us Weekly cover, with the children and the hysterical "HELP!" caption, is just wrong. I mean, Us is calling out Britney for being a bad mother while it exploits her children for financial gain?  With no sense of irony.

Is Britney a perfect mother? No. Haven't we all made mistakes though? Lets take off our sanctimommy hats here.  Britney hasn't done anything to warrant the hysterical "HELP!" caption.  Her children are not in physical danger.  She probably loves them very much.  Girlfriend is just a little dim.

To the contrary of the last comment, Britney has done everything to warrant "Help!" now the question is whether or not she'll get it.

I'm not anti-Britney by any means, but as I cover all things celebrity/parent related, I have to read about her exploits daily, and they are not healthy for her or her children.

I just hope she gets it together.

I don't think Us Weekly counts as a valid source when it comes to what celebs do and don't do.  Didn't they report she was going to have a water birth with her first child in a tub filled with Kabalah water, and didn't she have a c-section instead?

I have to agree w/ Mom2Two.

Us is *hardly* a bastion of reliable information.  To give it credence is like holding up the National Enquirer to prove that our president is actually a martian.
