MILPH: MILF Rebranded?

MILF is a term that sends many feminists into a dither and lights up conversations around the 'sphere with debates, radio shows, clubs, and columns.

Website "MILPH World" wants to change all that -- Mothers in Life Passion and Health founder Amy Deming is a 36 year old mother of three living in Terra Linda, California.  Her site is geared toward men (you heard me) between 18 and 35 but, never fear, also to women.

She describes her low point as wearing sweats and "gaining 10 pounds" which made me laugh out loud.  10 pounds? Sweats?  I don't want to play pounds-upmanship here, but this revelation didn't render me gooey with identification.  Quite the contrary.

Go to the site if you dare (but NOT if you're not at work because you'll get sacked for viewing porn).  It's all very Charlie's Angels meets James Bond (alas, with no Daniel Craig) meets Jessica Simpson.  Throw in a dash of plastic surgery, some very hungry mamas, and voila!  Perfect recipe for MILPHs.   Now I love weighing 110 as much as the next gal (when I was FOURTEEN) but let's set more realistic goals, shall we?  Lotta's Club is something I can get behind.  The rest of you stick figs can just bite me!

There is something annoying about expecting women to have flat bellies and perky boobies after giving birth. So I'm happy you linked to our MILF club - cause we think you've got it going on in  whatever shape makes you feel good!

While I can understand why some may find a moniker that includes profanity to be somewhat offensive, I LOVE the fact that we have taken the term and made it our own.  It is about time that real women unite and support each other as we struggle to find our own "Inner MILF Goddess"

I never once looked at the MILF moniker as anything other than how we feel about ourselves.  It's an inner thing...you feel sexy, you're going to look sexy.  To whom, it doesn't matter.

Yes, Lotta's club does have it going on. Every Friday her MILF babes bare all in a way that won't get you canned on the job.

More than anything, it's about women taking charge of their self-esteem, self-worth, whateveryouwannacallit. And they're doing it in a way that's real and packed with humor.

Check 'em out.

I'm one of Lotta's future MILF's and damn proud of it! I agree with everyone, let's own it and work it! It's about how you feel about yourself, and if it is motivation for gals to do something healthy for themselves, I'm all for it.

I think that "naked weight loss" is an interesting phenomenon in and of itself. The thought that a bunch of women are sharing intimate details about how much they weight, what they eat, how much they loose or gain is just so liberating. Let's get it out of th closet and out in the open.

Thanks for drawing attention to this subject in a positive way.

MAYBE I'll let my husband know about the website! :0)

Gawd.... I'd rather be a MILF than a MILPH any day of the week. Those women are skanky!

I thought you just might have said something nice about Lotta's MILF group (of which I am a proud participant).

No, wait, you did; you were wicked nice about the MILF Weight Loss Group.

God Bless You.

I was getting a little "you MILFs drag women down" and "you pervs what's wrong with you always wanting men to oogle you and turn on 14 year old boys" fatigued.

We just want to be our personal best. It's all to the good.

As usual, the Queen said it well, "It is about time that real women unite and support each other as we struggle to find our own "Inner MILF Goddess"

And <a href="http://theartfulflower.blogspot.com/2007/02/chandra-wilson-at-sag-awards-ygg.html">Chandra Wilson said it</a> said it GREAT!

Okay. I'm a feminist and I also don't find the term MILF offensive.  The two do not have to be mutually exclusive.

Who says that a MILF has to be a skinny fake-boob bad hair dye case?  I can think of plenty of women from all sizes that I think are much worthier of gaining the title MILF.

More importantly, who says moms can't be sexual?  I think a MILF is someone that despite her title as "Mommy" can still feel and act attractive and sexual in her own right.  Good for them for attracting sexual attention despite their flabby stomachs and circle-ringed eyes.  It's all in the attitude.

Think Melanie Martinez.  Just because we deal with children daily can we not be desirable as well (in whatever brand of desire we wish to wear)?

Rock on!

I love that we're owning it.  It's about us feeling like MILF's.  Maybe it would more appropriate to call it MWLFS (Mothers who feel like (having) sex.
