I enjoyed the beginning of UP. The rest of it I felt was pretty heavy-handed. Which may have been the point for kids but I didn't really think it was a kid's movie so I left the theatre unsure as to whether I liked it or hated it. I definitely didn't love it. One of these days I'll watch it alone, without a hysterical four-year-old in my lap. Perhaps then my opinion of it will change!

I know you are a big proponent of anti-violence in everything and I really do admire your passion BUT, it makes me sad to think that you could not enjoy a movie as lovely as UP. Children must also learn that evil exists in the world.

totally dig the train! i've been up and back to NYC a few times (just me and the lil babe) and it's the only way to travel with her alone. no stopping for diaper changes or feedings, etc. you may already know this, but the Renegade Craft Fair is in LA this weekend! i went to the one in brooklyn and scored some adorable prints and tops for zoe and i. it was a fun place to take the kids, lots to look at! if you aren't too tired from your "vacay" maybe you all can check it out!

I agree, the train is a must do for people with children. Some of my best memories were sitting in those huge seats, looking out the window at the ocean flying by, and trips to the dinning car. It always blew my mind that there was a little restaurant on a train.
