Before Political Nanny was keeping on eye on Hillary Clinton, she was watching Bill. Obviously not closely enough because -- how shall we put this? -- Little Bill played around. With the girls. In a big, messy, and not terribly discreet way. Surely you recall.
Oh you don't? Well, fear not. The recorded messages between Bill Clinton and his once mistress of 12 years, Gennifer Flowers, will soon be up at auction. Surely the winning bidder will share them with the public. Flowers, 58, first played the tapes at a press conference in 1992, which she called in order to defend herself again Clinton family denials. She has held on to the recordings all these years.
Why sell them now? Flowers, who lives and works in Las Vegas (and keeps a blog), hopes to ensure her future financial security by selling the phone sex recordings of her and Bill Clinton. A Japanese businessman once offered her $5 million for the tapes. So auctioning the tapes is about payment.
It's also about pay back.
From Norm! at Vegas Confidential:
Asked about the timing of her announcement coming out as Hillary
Clinton continues to slide in her presidential bid, “I don’t need to
hurt Hillary. She is doing a fine job of that herself, along with her
idiot husband. Karma is an interesting thing. If these two don’t get
elected, and they are a team, it will be karma coming back to visit
them. It's about time."
But such opportunism, while on the one hand expected, is rather exhausting. It's like a 2-year-old tattling on a known trouble-child. It's overkill. So for getting on Political Nanny's last nerve, that's two minutes in the Naughty Chair, Ms. Flowers. A little time to think this through, a little time to count your money.
Next item for auction? Lord, please not the blue dress.
