No, Axel's not old enough for bomb pop-induced brain freezes or hot dogs and beer at a baseball game, but he's the perfect age for the chlorine and pee- filled pool water. I spent all afternoon packing

re: Pool Party

Okay, those doll photos are hilarious. "Views from the crime scene, at 11...."

And re. Axel pooping in the pool: Someday, you will screen Caddyshack for him, and he'll wonder why you find the Baby Ruth scene so incredibly funny.

Axel was wearing the Target brand swim diaper when it leaked. He also has skinny (for a baby) legs, so maybe the diaper streched out when wet and that contributed to the leakage? One of his other suits, purchased by my parents, is one of those built in swim diaper suits. However, it says that it can contain chunks but not liquid. With mushy baby poo, that's a little disturbing...

Jo, I'll do a post on the sleep stuff soon. We are not sleep experts by any stretch of the imagination, but we've made some progress, at least at bedtime. Naps are still a crapshoot.

We're starting swim lessons next month. Just wondering, what swim diapers/trunks are you using?

I hate to tell ya, but Axel is looking less like a baby and more like a little boy these days! So freakin' cute!

There's nothing cuter than babies in the pool for the first time.

That photo of the baby feet upside down in the bucket is hilarious.

Also, in the photo where he is playing with the bag, he looks so much like you!

My daughter is just 1 month behind Axel and it's almost freakish how you are always writing about something we are just on the cusp of. We just bought our 1st swimmies today and I was fearing the escaped poo. Now that I know it's a possibility, it seems quite funny. Anyway, thanks for all the great posts. Oh, one last request as you seem to be into the attachment parenting gig to a moderate degree (as compared to the militant AP folks). I was hoping for an inspiring post on how the heck you got Axel to sleep on his own. We are still rocking, singing, nursing, and all other sorts of madness. Thanks!!!

jo
