Dressing Up for Red Carpet Not Fun for Pregnant Maya Rudolph

Pregnant comedienne Maya Rudolph stars in the new movie "Away We Go" with The Office star John Krasinski and it looks pretty funny. In the movie, Maya had to wear a make-believe baby bump. But she's not sporting a fake bump these days. The mom of 3-1/2-year-old Pearl is expecting Baby #2 with husband Paul Thomas Anderson.

When she showed up at the red carpet affair for her new movie premiere (which opens Friday), she talked about getting all dolled up for these Hollywood affairs. In short, "not fun."

"I do my best," Maya said. "This is super dressed up." Talking about her pregnancy, she said, "I was sick as a dog for the first trimester, but now I'm totally fine."

Sam Mendes, director of Rudolph's new movie, joked, "It's an amazing act of selflessness that Maya Rudolph agreed to become pregnant a second time to promote this movie."

Tina Fey was spotted taking daughter Alice, 3, to the movies in Santa Monica on Saturday. For a writer and producer like Tina, I guess this could be considered Take Your Daughter to Work Day. At least that's what I call it when I invite my daughters to sit in my office and watch me blog.

I just read that Tina and Robert Downey, Jr. are going to voice characters in a movie for Dreamworks. Titled Oobermind, the movie stars Downey as "a supervillain who pines for the good old days after finally defeating his arch nemesis." It doesn't say what part Tina would play, but I'll bet it's the Gwyneth-Paltrow-Iron-Man-Secretary part. Too bad - Tina would kick ass as the arch nemesis.

Congratulations to the family!

Andy Samberg announced the good news on May 12 after his performance on the Jimmy Fallon show. T-Pain was supposed to perform with Andy but had better things to do.

T-Pain has two children Lyriq and Muziq, the name of the new baby was not announced, but it seems like it will have something to do with music.

Here's lovely Maya Rudolph outside the studio for the Late Show with David Letterman yesterday, showing off her baby belly. Maya recently announced her pregnancy with director boyfriend Paul Thomas Anderson.

Maya is mom to daughter Pearl Bailey, but says her new pregnancy is "totally different."

"When you have a three-and-a-half-year-old, you don’t have time to rest and nap and do all those sweet pampering type things you did for yourself the first time," Maya says. "You are like, ‘I got to get to bed!’"

Hell, just reading about being pregnant with a 3-1/2-year-old is making me ready for a nap, and I don't even have a uterus!

Tina Fey Talks About Her Daughter Alice, Motherhood, and Fame

You might think that it'd be weird to grow up with superstar Tina Fey as a mother, but 2 and 1/2 year-old Alice Zenobia is all that impressed. She's more interested in her mom's co-stars Elmo and Oscar in her latest DVD Elmo and the Bookaneers.

“She met Elmo and Oscar, though she was less than two at the time and a little scared of Oscar — but she got her photo taken inside his trash can.”

According to Tina, Alice isn't to into her jokes and actually "thinks that Daddy is funnier." And that's probably OK, because mommy's sense of humor doesn't really cater to Alice's demographic. The thought of a kid laughing at Tracy Jordan, Jenna Maroney, or Jack Donaghy and comprehending 30 Rock's cynical little comedy nuggets is almost kinda disturbing.

As to whether Alice comprehends mommy's superstar status, here's what Tina had to say:

"She's starting to, and I'm trying to figure out how to downplay it. I want her to know that to be famous is not really important and not a sign of any kind of merit. But I do like her coming on the set and seeing how different jobs work and that people have different roles in making the show."

Still a new dad to Archie William Emerson, now 5 months old, Will Arnett says that so far dadhood is quite fun. Will, in fact, says, "It's still very early, but I've just been nominated Dad of the Year. Well, I nominated myself."

Archie's mom, of course, is actress and comedian Amy Poehler. Even though he was born in New York City, the whole family picked up and moved to Los Angeles now that Amy is starring and filming in the new NBC show "Parks and Recreation."

Will says Hollywood fits the family perfectly. "Try and keep us off the red carpet," he says. "We go red carpet hunting!" While he'd prefer to raise Archie in New York, he's not too worried.

Amy Poehler loves being pregnant, and believes all the extra weight is awesome. "It’s really nice. You make people happy," she says in an interview with Elle. "There’s a reason why Santa Claus and Buddha both have big bellies."

But Poehler, who gave birth to son Archie with Will Arnett last year, says it's all downhill after the birth. "As soon as you have your baby, nobody cares about you anymore. They just want to make sure you don’t sit next to them on the plane."

And it sounds like life post-Saturday Night Live isn't just gumdrops and rainbows. Of preparing for her role on her new NBC series Parks and Recreation, she jokes, "I have been pushing a rock up a hill and watching as it slowly rolls back down."

Alaska Governor and former Republican vice presidential nominee Sarah Palin gave birth to her fifth child - Trig - almost a year ago. Palin hid her pregnancy from the public and even her own children - but was almost discovered by one of her daughters, when Sarah made one slip-up.

PEOPLE Assistant Editor Lorenzo Benet's biography of Palin, titled Trailblazer: An Intimate Biography of Sarah Palin, reports details on her pregnancy with Trig and why she hid it. The book also sheds light on Sarah's oldest daughter Bristol, and her relationship with fiance Levi Johnston and their newest edition - son Tripp.

A few highlights from the book:

On Sarah's pregnancy with Trig:

One of Palin's daughters found her ultra-sound photo of Trig but Sarah explained it away. "Sarah made one slip-up - but [she] dampened suspicion by explaining it away." Sarah was also given the news that her unborn baby would have Down syndrome, but did not disclose that information to her family either, until after his birth on April 18.

"Not discussing the pregnancy with her daughters, she felt, would shorten the process and spare them from unwanted attention." Sarah also felt unsure about how to handle her own emotions.

"Not knowing in my own heart if I was going to be ready to embrace a child with special needs - I couldn't talk about it."

Trig's health issues started right at birth:

Baby Trig was born with a congenital heart defect typically found in about 50 percent of babies with Down syndrome. However, his cleared up without requiring surgery.

The Palin home is typical of a big family:

There are chaotic times, like in any household, one-on-one basketball games, kids bantering back and forth and take-out dinners. They have lots of extended family to help out when needed, especially when Sarah was on the campaign trail last year. The family also hired a Wasilla nanny to lend a hand.

On the relationship between Sarah's oldest daughter Bristol, and her fiance Levi Johnston:

Bristol and Levi became teen parents on December 27, 2008, with the birth of their son, Tripp.

During her pregnancy, Bristol, now 18, was living in Anchorage with her aunt and uncle, Heather and Kurt Bruce. She was working two jobs and attending West High School.

Levi was living 40 miles away in Wasilla, but, "there was certainly no ban on them dating. Levi used to drive to Anchorage to take Bristol out."

Heather Bruce was quoted for the book: "He used to bring her flowers and take her to dinner and a movie. He would come in and say hello, but he says few words. He's a quiet boy."

As a parent, I'm not sure I'd hide my pregnancy from my older children - what's the point? Sure, I'm not in the public eye, but why hide it from your own kids? They're eventually going to find out and why not let them be a part of it? I don't like 'secrets' in a family - but that's just me.

Sasha and Malia Obama, fresh off their Inauguration night visit from the Jonas Brothers, continue their world domination of all teenage girls' dreams. The First Daughters have been invited by Harry Potter himself on a private tour of Hogwarts. Pretty cool!

Potter star Daniel Radcliffe described President Obama as, "everything the rest of the world liked about America and now likes again,” and wants to show his admiration by giving Sasha and Malia a little star treatment.

"I'd like to take this opportunity to issue a public invitation to the Obamas that if their daughters would like a private tour of the Harry Potter set, I would be honored to be their personal tour guide," Radcliffe said.

Radcliffe, who is set to begin filming the final installment in the Harry Potter series, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, is optimistic for America's future under Obama. "He is a symbol of progress which is what we dig about this country. What you love about England is all the old buildings and such. The traditions. I love that, too. But this is what we want from you."

With the girls rubbing elbows with so many celebrities lately, could a future in show biz be far beind? Probably not - First Lady Michelle doesn't seem like a stage mom, and certainly not the type to let any of this go to her daughters' heads.

Although, seeing Sasha and Malia host Saturday Night Live - how awesome would that be? Hey, just throwing it out there.

I was at the La Brea Tarpits one of the days that Will Farrell was filming scenes to the movie.

Sadly, we did not catch even a glimpse of him, though not for lack of trying. I tried to see if he was around anywhere, maybe taking a break with his kids, taking in the sights, but no.

It's alright, my kids thought it was cool anyway.

Adam Sandler Likes to Act It Out

One of my favorite times of the day is story time. Is it your or just your kid's?

It's one of Adam Sandler's favorite time of the day as well.

He said, “I like to dress up as the lead character in whatever story I am reading. This is a little weird because my daughter loves the Disney princesses. But you’d be surprised at how good I look in a ball gown. I hold the storybook and make up my own stories with the characters. This backfired when my daughter started watching movies and realized that Cinderella didn’t drive for NASCAR.”

We like sing song stories here at my house. We don't quite act everything out but it's a really good idea. Though my boys would probably just be wound up after a theatre production.

Back in Alaska, Governor Sarah Palin still wants more. The ex-Republican VP nominee, Sarah is trying to write a tell-all book. She's represented by the same lawyer who represented Barack Obama and the Clintons for their book deals.

According to sources, Sarah is looking for an $11 million advance! That's a pretty tall order, since Hillary Clinton got only $8 million in advance for "Living History." Laura Bush received just $2 million in advance for her upcoming White House memoir. What the hell makes Sarah think she's worth $11 million?

There may also be a TV deal coming, though Sarah's lawyer remains mum on the subject. He's gotten deals for NBC's Brian Williams, Lesley Stahl, and Dr. Sanjay Gupta (the new Surgeon General in Obama's administration).

Sarah is now halfway done with her first term as governor, and gave her State of the State Address last night in Juneau. She congratulated President Obama and said if Barack "governs with the skill, grace and greatness of which he is capable, Alaska's going to be just fine."

Former SNL superstar Amy Poehler is thrilled to be a momma, and says she can't get enough of son Archie, now 2 months old. "It's amazing," Amy says. "He's a sweet boy. Archie's the best."

Amy and hubby Will Arnett welcomed Archie in October, and the couple recently showed up at the Golden Globes. She wasn't picky about her fancy Pamella Roland gown. "With a 2-month-old, it's nice that something fits."

Next month, Amy starts working on the new NBC sitcom, created by the producers of "The Office."

"We start shooting in February and it's on in April," Amy says. She describes it as "like Tina Turner in Beyond Thunderdome. I am a boss; I have an office. It's a whole different world. It's not a spin-off, it's a whole different place. The Office's Rashida Jones plays my friend."

This will be a big switch for Amy, who recently left Saturday Night Live after 7 years on the show.

As for losing her baby weight, she attributes it to never sleeping. Such is the life of a new parent.

What? No big fight over the first rights to Tripp Johnston's baby photos? It was reported that a few magazines were in a bidding war for the pics and that PEOPLE won, paying a price of $300,000, but apparently that's not the case. So what gives?

A PEOPLE exec denied the claims that Bristol Palin and Levi Johnston were paid a whopping $300,000 for the first photos of their newborn son, Tripp.

Managing editor Larry Hackett said that they "had conversations" about the photos with a Palin rep, but no deal has been made, and no money has changed hands.

"Would I like the pictures? I would love the pictures, but I don't have them."

Hackett wouldn't say if they're continuing negotiations or what price the mag would be willing to pay the teen couple and their infant.

Paul Harris, who is with Pacific Coast News photo agency said that the $300,000 is an appropriate figure for a sit-down portrait session BUT only if the photos included new grandmother, Sarah Palin.

Harris adds that if Palin were to run as a presidential candidate in 2012, then maybe the pictures would be worth something but he doesn't think anyone will pay big money for "street photos" of her grandson Tripp and his teen mom.

"Maybe if the father left her and went off with Angelina Jolie, but that might not happen," said Harris.

Nope, I'm guessing Levi isn't running off with Angie.

Most desirable 'what' you ask? Well, some might think it's how she looks in a bikini but this poll was asking Americans who they would most like to live next door to - and the winner was Sarah Palin!

Why? Is she one of those moms who all of the neighborhood kids flock to, who think of her like a second mother? Perhaps. She is self-admitted down-to-earth person and a "hockey mom" so maybe that is, in part, what puts her at the top of the list.

Palin got 14 percent of the vote, Oprah was second and Olympic champ Michael Phelps was third, with 9 percent.

Surprisingly, Britney Spears was the least favorite celeb - no one wanted to live next to her. What? Shocking!

Other celebrity parents were not viewed very neighborly - David and Victoria Beckham, Rosie O'Donnell and even Joe the Plumber.

The poll was done by real estate website Zillow.com in December, with nearly 2,200 Americans voting. All were over the age of 18.

Governor Palin said:

"We are over the moon with the arrival of this healthy, beautiful baby. The road ahead for this young couple will not be easy, but nothing worthwhile is ever easy. Bristol and Levi are committed to accomplish what millions of other young parents have accomplished, to provide a loving and secure environment for their child. They are both hard workers, they’re very strong, and have faith they’ve made the right decision in setting aside their own interests to make this child their highest priority.

Grandpa Todd is fine I guess but he’s always texting Grandma about troopers to fire and budget items to cut. They have bigger things on their plate. Also mom said someone named UNCLE JIM DOBSON was coming to talk to the whole family about something called 2012? That can’t be good.

Poor baby. Not even a week old and already freaked the hell out.

Seriously, though, he needs to calm down. Having teen parents isn't so bad; just ask the newest Spears baby. And who doesn't have a failed Vice-Presidential nominee or two in their family tree? Or a oxycontin dealer? WHATEVER. Call me when there's a felon or two in the extended family, or a circus performer, maybe. Drugs and politics are so ordinary.

That 'breast moose' thing, though? That is disturbing.

Bristol Palin and fiance Levi Johnston welcomed son Tripp Easton Mitchell Johnston a couple of days ago and already there's talk of the newborn's photos! Baby Tripp may have started a bidding war....

According to a source, bidding on the first photos of Tripp started around $100,000 and reportedly PEOPLE have won the rights to the pics. In Touch Weekly was the only other mag that made a serious bid.

The price however, didn't immediately go up because Sarah Palin stories didn't do well on newsstands. An insider dished, "Sarah was on the cover of People, Us Weekly, and OK! the same week, and really only People saw a bump in sales."

But no worries - because of grandma Johnston's (Levi's mom Sherry) arrest on drug charges - the price went up.

"The bidding started well before the baby was born, but once Levi's mom was arrested - well, then you had a story," explained one editor.

While none of the mags would confirm the final price, it's estimated that Bristol and Levi will earn about $300,000 for their baby's photos.

Nice chunk of change for teen parents. That'll buy a lot of diapers!

I know there are many Sarah Palin supporters out there and guess what they are doing? They are all buying her 2009 calendar.

Well, I for one am glad that I ordered my Sarah Palin 2009 calendar early. It's an amazon.com best seller. J/K I didn't really buy one.

The calendar is $15.95 and reportedly has some never before seen pictures.

I loved the "Inquisitr's" take on the calendar. They said, "Early reviewers say the calendar looks promising at a glance, but once you get to really know it, you realize it was definitely the wrong choice."

Sarah Palin's 18-year-old daughter Bristol has given birth to her first child! The teen and her boyfriend, Levi Johnston, welcomed a healthy, baby boy. And what did the young couple name their new bundle of joy?

Tripp Easton Mitchell Johnston arrived on Sunday, December 28, weighing 7 lb., 4 oz. He was born in Palmer, Alaska.

Colleen Jones (who confirmed the news), sister of Bristol's grandmother Sally Heath, said, "We think it's wonderful. The baby is fine and Bristol is doing well. Everyone is excited."

Bristol and Levi plan to marry this coming summer.

Ingrid Newkirk, PETA's president, claims she received a call from a rep (who didn't reveal their identity) from Palin's office, threatening to sue if they didn't remove the game from their website. Talk to the lawyers says PETA!

PETA'S VP, Bruce Friedrich said, "Sarah Palin is a bully who never saw an animal she didn't want to kill, so it's not surprising that her staff would try to intimidate us anonymously and then backtrack when called out. Our game represents a fun way to focus attention on a very serious subject - cruelty to animals supported by Sarah Palin and other targets of the game - and we have no intention of taking it down in response to these pathetic attempts at intimidation."

Communications director for Palin's office, Bill McAllister, said that they are not upset about the game at all.

"We take all kinds of shots all the time. We realize we're a fair target. I could care less about the game."

He added, "This allegation about a lawsuit is just too much. No one in our office knew anything about it. And PETA has refused to say who called."

Hey, maybe when Madonna is acting like a unreasonable parent (according to her pre-teen daughter), Lourdes can take her frustrations out by throwing snowballs at her mother!
