Trust Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi With Your Children

According to a poll on ParentDish.com of 10,000 moms (sorry dads, nobody cares what you think- still) Ellen and her wife Portia de Rossi are the top pick for celebrity babysitters.

The fact that the couple does not have children of their own didn't deter moms from feeling comfortable with their child-rearing potential. They received 31% of the votes followed by another star sans child, Jennifer Aniston, who received 22%. Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt came in third with 18% and Oprah finished with just 9%. However, and this is just my opinion, I think Oprah is more likely to buy everyone involved a car, so there's that.

Can You Compete With Madonna?

Someone took a survey to find out who is the hardest working mom in showbiz. Why on earth would they do that? Are they trying to invalidate every other mom out there?

The winner of this dubious award is Madonna. She is the hardest working mom out there. *cough* *cough*

This poll irritates me on several levels. First, according to reports of her staff, Madonna doesn't spend a whole lot of time with her kids. The kids are lucky to get a half an hour a day with her. Second, just because she topped the earnings list means diddely squat to her kids. Third, I think this kind of poll is ridiculous because, people like you and me, who work our asses off for little more than the kisses our kids give us before they go to bed at night could never compete. I don't know about you but after I play chef, housekeeper, nanny and chauffeur, I'm beat.

I bet my kids think I'm the hardest working mom they know.

Mom Jeans - A Poll

The internet has been all abuzz about "mom jeans" this week and we're no different.

Jessica Simpson, who may or may not be pregnant, really got the proverbial ball rolling, and while I have no plans of bashing her weight I must say the pants don't help.

What we want to know is why is the mom jean popular - especially among the young Hollywood crowd, many of which aren't even pregnant?

Everyone likes a little competition in their lives. Some people run marathons and some play fantasy football, anything for a bit of heated rivalry.

Hollywood hipsters have a contest, too. It's called the baby name game.

I just made that up, but it seems like there is something going on, doesn't it? We have Peanut, Apple, Pilot Inspektor, Zuma and a long list of others. Baby names is big business. It's the big game hunting of the 21st century, but instead of mounting the trophy on a wall for people to gaze upon they get photographed by strangers all day for people to gaze upon.

We thought it would be fun to get in on the action, but since we're not celebrities, or expecting for that matter, we'll just do an informal poll instead. That's still fun, right?

"My Name is Earl" star Jason Lee and his girlfriend (wife?) Ceren Alkac have welcomed a baby girl. This is the first child for the couple.

Jason has a son named Pilot Inspektor from a previous relationship.

What could they name the little girl to top that? I feel a poll coming on (not pole).

Sorry Life & Style, you could have been a part of all the fun earlier if you could have been bothered to update your site in time. Oh well, we'll still humor you.

The thing about K-Fed is that no matter what, he's still K-Fed. Is this whole mess about the children or the Benjamins? Probably both. The thing is Kevin, you shouldn't gloat. Just because you have finally managed to be on the higher road for once in your life doesn't mean you should poke sticks at the person on the lower. Well, maybe a few pokes, but come on, man, be cool.

How sad must Britney be for her own family to jump into Camp Ex-Fed? The guy is a tool, yet by comparison he's looking like dad of the year. Life & Style is claiming that Britney's family is pulling for her to lose the kids and that some will testify against her in this "private" custody battle. That's gotta hurt.

You know what always makes me feel better when my own family turns on me and backs some idiot (this happened in the last two elections)? A couple of smokes, some Starbucks, a tall glass of schnapps and something of off T-Bell's dollar menu, 'cuz after that I'm full. Well, sometimes I'll go hook-up with a random stranger in the pool, but only if there are photographers around.

Maybe I'll go down to the pool now.
