Barbara Walters To Interview John Edwards' Mistress Rielle Hunter!?

John Edwards' mistress has remained silent throughout months of wild speculation (supposedly because John was paying her to) and even a little trash talking from Elizabeth Edwards. Finally, word has it that Rielle is ready to tell Barbara Walters all about it...

"WORLDWIDE ENQUIRER EXCLUSIVE: John Edwards’ mistress Rielle Hunter has agreed to sit down for a bombshell interview with ABC News Barbara Walters, the ENQUIRER has learned exclusively.

“Rielle will break her silence for the first time with Barbara Walters. The interview will air on ABC in June,” a source told The ENQUIRER.

“Rielle is so angry with Elizabeth Edwards for trashing her repeatedly while promoting her book that she’s decided to break from John. She’s going to defend herself and tell her side of the story!”

As crazy and damaging as the affair was to the Edwards family, the aftermath has been even weirder. First, the lying by John Edwards, then the lovechild. Then, we get Elizabeth Edwards saying that she is standing by him and making Rielle out to be the monster.

Still, if Elizabeth wanted this to go away, would she have slammed Rielle in her book and called her "pathetic?" This interview (if it's not a complete hoax) has the potential to be really embarrassing for John Edwards.

If she reveals that he's been supporting her financially, he's going to get a major black eye. Rielle is reportedly demanding that John take a DNA test to confirm that he's the father. He is refusing ... I wonder why? If it turns out that he's the father, Hunter wants 1/4 of his estate (which comes out to $10M).

John Edwards' former mistress Rielle Hunter - whose baby girl Frances, 14 months, is rumored to be the daughter of Edwards - is upset that he's denying paternity of her child. She wants John to submit to a DNA test to prove he is the dad!

According to sources, Hunter is working with an attorney to take legal action against Edwards. This all comes with the recent release of John's wife Elizabeth's new book Relilience, in which she talks of her battle with terminal cancer, her marriage and her husband's affair. Elizabeth isn't sure if John is the father of Frances, but she admits she could be. Although John finally admitted the affair to Elizabeth - he first lied that it was a one time thing - he has adamantly denied he's the dad.

An insider said, "Rielle - probably naively - now realizes she had held onto a false promise that if she continued to take part in the cover-up John had engineered, they'd be together in the future.

"She was willing to protect John for the sake of the child. She agreed to allow a crony of his to claim he was the baby's father, and she even kept the name of the father blank on the birth certificate.

"But now she can see there's never going to be a future with John - and she feels he's lied about his promise to keep Elizabeth from trashing her in the book," claimed the source.

"Rielle is so infuriated by his and Elizabeth's actions that she's throwing her loyalty to him out of the window!"

The source added, "Rielle wants the paternity of her daughter Frances finally established. It could ruin John for good because even after admitting the affair, he vehemently denied being the father!"

What a mess. I don't know how Elizabeth has been dealing with this - can you imagine battling cancer and your partner is cheating on you? Nothing like kicking a person when they're down. How sad for the Edwards' children, too.

And baby Frances didn't ask to be born into such a sordid situation. She has every right to know both of her parents - so if John Edwards is the father, then he needs to step up and take care of her. If you're going to sleep around and end up creating a child, then you have to take responsibility.

Elizabeth Edwards sat down with Oprah this week to tell the world her story, and snippets of the convo (set to air Thursday) are making their way out.

Apparently, Elizabeth came on the show to talk about her battle with terminal cancer, John Edwards' affair, and her upcoming memoirs Resilience -- but mostly John's affair and the messy, lingering aftermath. According to Elizabeth, John may very well be a baby daddy to Rielle Hunter's 1-year-old daughter.

"I've seen a picture of the baby. I have no idea. It doesn't look like my children but I don't have any idea."

When asked whether she still loved her husband, she replied: "You know, that's a complicated question"

If you remember the story, Hunter didn't list the father's name on her daughter's birth certificate, so it's not super clear whether she actually believes John is the father or not.

Still, with all of the rumors that Rielle got hush money from John's campaign and speculation that she and the baby are living in a secret home payed for by John to keep them from being overrun by reporters like me, it looks like he's the daddy.

Former Senator John Edwards may have, in the past, denied paternity for his former mistress Rielle Hunter's daughter Frances Quinn Hunter, but even without a test, just one look at that photo, and it's quite evident who that baby's father is.

It was reported that Edwards told his wife Elizabeth that he was indeed Frances' father but now it's unclear if he actually did. Although he has admitted to the affair with Rielle, he may not have actually admitted to being the baby's dad.

Elizabeth Edwards has a new book coming out in May, titled Resilience: Reflections on the Burdens and Gifts of Facing Life's Adversities, which is said to address the affair of her husband.

Hunter's people are saying that she's trying to stay out of the public eye and not make any comments concerning John Edwards or the fact that he's [allegedly] the father of her baby. However, with Elizabeth's book tour about to begin, Rielle may just start speaking up about the true identity of her daughter's father.

What a mess! I have zero respect for John Edwards - just the fact that he had an affair while his wife was battling cancer, is low. And to have fathered a child with his mistress is another low blow to his wife. I don't know how she stands to be with him.

I wonder how he's explained his actions to his children? And what about baby Frances? If he's denying paternity, and it's determined that he actually is her dad, then he's also denying that child the right to know her father. What a jerk.

Ex-senator John Edwards was accused of having an affair with Rielle Hunter, while his wife Elizabeth was fighting cancer. Not only that, but he was rumored to have a love child with his mistress. Now, Edwards has confessed (what the rest of us knew!) that he did indeed father Hunter's baby girl.

John decided to come forward to his wife because his ex-lover threatened to go public. Although Edwards had admitted to the affair earlier, he would not admit to being the baby's father - he even had one of his campaign workers, Andrew Young, claim to be the father.

John's wife has a book coming out in May, titled, "Resilience: Reflections on the Burdens and Gifts of Facing Life's Adversities," and his ex-lover was upset about the release and John wanted to get the news of his affair out before Rielle did.

A source said, "Rielle has become extremely edgy, and John's been afraid she might go public before Elizabeth's book comes out so she can put her story out there first."

The insider added, "These concerns led to John telling Rielle that he had sat down with Elizabeth and admitted to being the baby's father. This is something Rielle had been pushing John to do for a long, long time because he initially told Elizabeth he was not the father.

"The last thing John wants right now is for Rielle to go public before Elizabeth's book comes out, make new headlines and trigger a nasty battle between the two women."

The guy is a slimball if you ask me. He's a disgrace to his wife and his children.

His love-child with Rielle, Frances Quinn, is now a year old.

Now that John Edwards has finally admitted his affair, let's take a look at the woman who he cheated with and who may be the mother of the former Senator's love child.

According to one online report, Hunter, born Lisa Druck, is a Florida native who took a Hollywood route to becoming Edwards' mistress. A friend of writer Jay McInerney, Hunter, 44, "fled the drugged-out nightlife of New York City in the 1980s, went to Hollywood to become an actress, tried her hand at screenwriting, married, divorced and embarked on a spiritual journey." McInerney later used Hunter as the basis of character Alison Poole in his novel Story of My Life.

Hunter, who is a novice filmmaker and runs a video production company was reportedly hired by Edwards in 2006 for a four-month campaign and was paid $100,000.

Edwards has denied he is the father of Hunter's baby girl, Frances Quinn, but has volunteered to take a paternity test. The one-time presidential candidate said that based on the timing of the baby's birth on February 27, 2008, he knew he was not the father. An associate of Edwards previously stepped forward to say that he had fathered the child.
