Kidnap Suspect Amalia Tabata Pereira is Wife of MLB Player Jose Tabata (PHOTOS)

The wife of Pittsburg Pirates player Jose Tabata, Amalia Tabata Pereira, is suspected of kidnapping a two-month old child in Florida. Pereira was found with the missing infant in Bradenton, Fla. about 50 miles away from Plant City, where the baby's mother lives and first reported her missing. Doesn't Pereira know there's no kidnapping in baseball?

No word on how long Pereira, 43, has been married to the 20-year-old ballplayer, but it's being reported that she has four different aliases. I wonder if one of them is Mrs. Robinson.

According to police reports, Rosa Sirilo-Francisco, the baby's mother, handed over her child to a woman she said claimed to be an immigration official. The woman, who called herself 'Janet,' told the mother that immigration officers were waiting for Sirilo-Francisco and the child's father at their home to deport them to Mexico. 'Janet' claimed she wanted to help the couple, but she had to take the baby with her. After Sirilo-Francisco handed over her child but then realized what happened she called authorities and an Amber Alert was issued.

None of the reports I read state a motive for the kidnapping, but I'm thinking Pereira was pretending to be pregnant, and then abducted a child to try and convince family and friends (and Tabata) that she had given birth. Which is a great plan, because who's going to suspect anything when you leave the house to go grocery shopping, and then return a couple of hours later cradling an infant and telling everyone you've given birth?

Travis Henry Arrested

Former NFL running back Travis Henry has been arrested in Denver and charged with dealing cocaine. According to an agent with the Rocky Mountain Division of the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), Henry was being held as a result of a “multi-kilogram cocaine transaction” in Centennial, CO. I don't know the metric system too well, but that sounds like a helluva lot of blow.

Travis Henry is a busy man. What with all the drug dealing and the inseminating of women: It was revealed last year that he has fathered nine children by nine women located in four different states.

Obviously all the diaper changing, the playdate organizing and homework helping I'm sure he's doing has affected his football career as well: Henry was released from his contract with the Denver Broncos in June after just one season.

Mary-Kate Olsen Getting Death Threats From Heath Fans

Mary Kate Olsen has reportedly beefed up her security detail after receiving bags of hate mail and death-threat phone calls from fans of Heath Ledger who blame Olsen for his death. Ledger, who was separated from the Michelle Williams, mother of his daughter Matilda, at the time, died of a prescription drug overdose in January.

PopCrunch.com writes that a tabloid report will soon outline the details of the relationship between Mary Kate and Ledger, and the disturbing response from fans:

“A lot of people who knew Heath and Mary-Kate in his last months know that they were partying together constantly, it wasn’t hard to connect the dots and run a line between Heath hooking up with Mary-Kate and his sad decline,” a celebrity mole reveals in a new tabloid report.

“One crazed fan sent her threatening letters. Another made menacing phone calls,” according to a friend of the actress. “Mary-Kate’s gotten more reclusive, paranoid and afraid to walk the streets than ever.”

Creepy. Just, creepy. On all counts.

Wow. It just doesn't get much more banally evil than stealing from the dead.

Apparently, Heath Ledger's well-loved 1975 green Komi van was stolen around the time of the actor's death, and although Heath's dad has made a public plea for its return, it's still missing.

The vintage van is apparently worth upwards of $70,000, in part due to the celebrity connection. Although I imagine that it's gonna be hard to dump, now that the world knows that some scumbag stole it and refused to return it to Heath's grieving family.

Feds Investigating Heath's Doctors

Federal authorities are investigatign the doctors who prescribed drugs to Heath Ledger. Ledger - who left behind a two-year old daughter, Matilda - died earlier this year as the result of a toxic combination of prescription narcotics.

According to People.com:

Doctors in California and Texas are under investigation by federal drug authorities in the matter of Heath Ledger's death...

“We are investigating doctors in Los Angeles and Texas with regard to Ledger’s prescriptions,” a source tells PEOPLE.

However, the source did not say whether any wrongdoing is involved, saying, “We don’t know yet. The agents were there this week, and we are waiting to hear from them.”

It's about time. I mean, it seems likely that somebody screwed up somewhere if Heath was taking toxic combinations of prescription drugs. And that's a screw-up that nobody wants to see repeated.

Only hours after the results of Heath Ledger's autopsy showed his death to be accidental due to a toxic combination of prescription drugs, the Drug Enforcement Agency has gotten involved and will be investigating Ledger's death.

A statement issued this morning by the Office of the New York City Medical Examiner declared Ledger's death "the result of acute intoxication by the combined effects of oxycodone, hydrocodone, diazepam, temazepam, alprazolam and doxylamine," and concluded the manner of death an "accident resulting from the abuse of prescription medications." The 'abuse' was reported to have taken the form of a toxic combination of the drugs, rather than an overdose, and the DEA wants to know who prescribed those drugs, and how Heath ended up with such a toxic combination. Did the prescriptions come from one doctor, or multiple doctors? TMZ reported that it spoke to three clinical psychiatrists, all of whom said it would be "highly unusual" and "reckless" for one physician to prescribe this combination of meds, and suggested that more than one doctor would have to have been involved.

According to officials, the DEA has requested copies of Ledger's autopsy as well as the original police report from the crime scene.
