Reese Witherspoon and her mini-me, daughter Ava, got in some batting practice together at an LA baseball field. It's amazing how much Ava looks like her mom - sign that girl up for Legally Blonde 3!

I'm thinking Reese was probably practicing for her upcoming role as a professional softball player in James Brooks' new movie. She has supposedly thrown herself into a demanding exercise regime, honing her softball skills and running rigorous drills.

The untitled comedy – which is going by the working title How Do You Know? – involves a love triangle between a white collar executive, played by Paul Rudd, Reese's character and a professional baseball pitcher played by Owen Wilson. Twenty-dollars says Kate Hudson will manage to insert herself in there somewhere.

You've gotta feel sorry for these celebrities sometimes. First they have to spend all that time counting all that money, then they have decide what expensive barnyard animal to buy as gifts for their children.

Reese Witherspoon is no exception - she's says daughter Ava, 9, "wants a horse" for Christmas, but says she hasn't decided if there'll be a filly under the tree come December 25.

"I'm a little strict about that kind of stuff," Witherspoon says. "I think kids do best when they only have a couple of things that they really enjoy. I try and stay away from the gluttony of things. They don't appreciate it as much. When they only get one or two things, they really like it."

That's right Reese - one or two horses should be enough for those kids of yours.

And with your movie Four Christmases being number one right now, you won't have to put them on your credit card, either.

What's the secret to Reese Witherspoon and Jake Gyllenhaal's relationship? Love, with a little bit of downward-facing dog. Couples yoga is apparently the activity of choice for the celebrity pair - and probably a nice way to spend some time alone away from Reese's kids Ava and Deacon.

This sounds completely healthy and soul-fulfilling and all, but what happened to the good old days when couples used to spend quality time in their car on a dark, deserted street? What happened to bonding over a mutual love of bad music and cheap booze?

C'mon, people - get some romance back into your life and trade those meditative moments on a yoga mat for a few hot hours on a tattered mattress.

Fashion Faux Pas! Suri & Violet Wear Same Dress!

Gasp! Suri Cruise and Violet Affleck have made their first fashion faux pas - caught in public, wearing the same dress. I'm guessing this is their first fashion face-off - so of course, we have to ask, who wore it better?

Suri Cruise was visiting with grandma Kathleen (Katie's mom) over this past weekend, and Violet, 2, wore hers on the Independence Day long weekend. Oh, well, then it's not too much of a fashion no-no if it wasn't even on the same weekend, at the same event. Whew.

I can't pick who wore it best - both girls are equally cute - Suri with her dark hair and that adorable face and Violet with those to die-for dimples. Both celebrity tots are pretty special!

There are lots of cutie pies in Hollywood - so many adorable celebrity babes, and older kids too! OK! conducted a poll to see who people thought is the best dressed tyke in Tinseltown and little Miss Suri Cruise took the top spot. Who else made the top ten most stylish kids?

The word is out that Ryan is none too pleased that ex-wife Reese is back on with Dreamy Eyed Jake Gyllenhaal. So what's he doing about it? Making wicked mature jokes about Brokeback Mountain (how original, Ryan!) and picking up again with his young hottie, Abbie Cornish. Reese and Ryan are both in their early 30s, Jake and Abbie in their mid-20s. Love the dueling cradle snatching! I pick Reese to win, but then I'm partial to spunky southern spitfires.

On a positive note: Ava is growing to be such a pretty young lady! And that Deacon is just as handsome as his father -- but probably more mature.

Good call by A Socialite's Life (they also have more pictures with Ava and Deacon) on Ryan's postal dude just off work costume. I did wonder for a moment if he had to take a second job, like so many divorced Dads, just to make ends meet. Then I was distracted by his "yeah, I have to hold my guns out like this and clench my ass because I'm so pumped from working out at the gym" pose. Vintage Madonna dancer posture. And he has the time to put into that kind of exercise program because, you know, he's not what you'd call real busy with film work. Which brought me back to thinking he really might need that second job.
