Richie was granted a leave from the anti-drinking program she attends.
This is not uncommon for participants to do as long as theyhave a valid
reason -- hers being concern for her safety, says her rep.
"They offer that option to anyone with a medical condition of any kind," the rep says. "She is not receiving special treatment."
At 8 months pregnant, she is taking the break to spend last days of pregnancy at home before baby is born.
Sentenced in July, Richie must complete the 18 moth program as a result of her sentencing for a DUI conviction.
