Remember the amazing The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill? Lauryn won eight Grammys in 1998 then she became disenchanted with the music industry, and to pretty much everyone's disappointment, largely disappeared.
It turns out, she's been busy squeezing out four kids with Rohan Marley, son of prodigious baby maker Bob Marley (13 kids with nine different women - I'm not judging, just reporting the facts, but shit, that's one fertile family.)
This week she has a new song "Lose Myself" on the Surf's Up soundtrack. Although a song on a kid's movie soundtrack isn't exactly the smoldering hot competition to Fergie we're all hoping for, it's a start.
C'mon Lauryn! Gwen is out there touring with her kid, Sheryl Crow has a newborn, Madonna took maybe one day off to give birth to each of her kids, for crissakes Britney might be working with Timbaland! We've been waiting ten years for that second studio album. Hire a babysitter, or have one of your kids' many, many, many aunties or uncles watch them and get yourself into the studio!
