Soleil Moon Frye, who played TV's Punky Brewster back in the day, is, for lack of a better word, hot corny. She talks about parenting like Yanni used to talk about Linda Evans, hell, maybe he still does. I can practically smell the patchouli when she starts reciting the Hallmark stanzas that are her feelings towards the wonders of parenting, as taught to her by daughter Poet. Yes, Poet. See what I did there, with the 'stanzas'? I know, clever.
According to People, (the magazine, not random nobodys) little Poet Sienna Rose, daughter of Frye and husband Jason Goldbert, stirs the sap in Soleil, "Every day I look in her eyes, and I realize that she's teaching me. I thought I'd be able to pass on so many lessons, but I think it's mutual in that we're teaching each other, and she teaches me about love and life every day. I have to remind myself, she's a baby! Because she seems so much bigger than life."
I respect your sense of wonder Soleil, but let's face it, parenting ain't all rainbows. There's a lesson for you.
