• Mark Wahlberg on Letterman (and off, too)

  Mark Wahlberg was a guest of David Letterman's last night promoting The Happening and as usual the topic turned to kids (and aliens vs. Jesus).  Mark and his partner Rhea Durham are expecting a baby boy later this summer. • Foo are Lovers not Fighters

  By now you've probably put together that I loves me some Foo.  Thanks to the guys at The Father Life for bringing this clip to my attention.  It features Dave Grohl and Taylor Hawkins shooting the shiznit on some show I've never seen before.  The conversation covers everything from Cobain to Dylan, but woven throughout is the thread of fatherhood.  It's long, but interesting. • Dave Matthews Goes Green(er)

  Dave Matthews is going a tad greener in regard to his new son, August, and his dirty diaper habit.  Matthews told People magazine, "We use cloth diapers for our new baby because I think diapers might be the No. 3 piece of garbage." • Suspect In Letterman Kidnap Plot Caught: The Top 5 Reasons.

  David Letterman can start sleeping with both eyes closed. A prison escapee who was accused of plotting to kidnap the talk show host's son was captured on Wednesday in Montana.  Kelly Frank, who had previously worked as a painter for Letterman, and fellow escapee William Willcutt were caught five days after they had escaped from a prison work ranch.  If Letterman were to cover it on his show, I think he would do it as a Top Ten List.  Seeing as I'm not on the CBS payroll, mine will be a Top 5: Top 5 Reasons Kelly Frank Got Caught: 5. Left telltale trail of pork rinds from ranch to Wal-Mart. 4. Used the name 'Larry Bud Melman' when trying to rent getaway car. 3. Asked Letterman for his old job back. 2. Missed the question "Who is Sanjaya Malakar" in the trivia game at Greasy's Bar. • Dave Matthews and Wife Cook Baby

  Hey, that's what he said.  Musician Dave Matthews and his wife, Ashley, are about ready for their bun to get out of the oven.  In an interview with Rolling Stone Magazine, Matthews quotes his wife as saying, "It's cooked!" The new addition, whose gender they don't know, will be greeted by twin sisters Grace Anne and Stella Busina. Dave's summer tour kicks off next month, and he says that he is planning on taking the whole family.  Funny how the craziness that happens backstage at a rock concert has changed over the years, isn't it? • Man Accused of Letterman Baby Kidnapping Plot Escapes

  Remember that freak that plotted to kidnap David Letterman's baby? That man, Kelly Frank, who plea-bargained his way out of kidnapping charges, but still went to jail on other convictions, has escaped. He and another inmate that were working on a prison ranch reportedly stole a truck and disappeared. Letterman and CBS have yet to make a comment. • Nicole Richie Also Considering Jail

  Nicole Richie, all 7 pounds of her (with glasses), made an appearance on Letterman last night to talk and, you know, be seen.  Dave, ever the curious type, wanted to talk about everyone's favorite jailbird, Paris Hilton. Nicole hasn't been able to visit Paris yet, but has spent hours trying to fit a file into a piece of celery for when that moment comes.  I'm hypothesizing of course. Letterman brought up the fact that Richie is having some legal trouble of her own, and may also be facing jail time.  She answered, ""I'm just keeping my fingers crossed, and you know, of course, I'm scared also, but you know, I'm willing to face whatever consequences come my way and I take responsibility for what I've done."  You know. In Hollywood DUI is the new black, and Nicole may be a few steps behind Paris in following suit.  What else is new?  Said Richie about Hilton and the media attention surrounding her legal issues, "Sometimes people just get exploited. I can only hope that doesn't happen to me."  Guess what? It's going to, just like you don't want. I can't help but wonder if this is just another attempt by Nicole to "fit in" with the other kids.  Rehab? Check.  Pregnant? Maybe.  Jail? Looking good.  The only thing Nicole has going for her is that she would be able to leave jail anytime she wanted just by turning sideways and slipping through the bars. Get it together girl, and for the love of Mike, eat something.  No matter what your friend tells you, this mess, it ain't hot.
