Sure, all the girls wanted David Cassidy, who played Keith Partridge but everyone knows Danny, the freckled drummer of "The Partridge Family" was the heart and soul of the group. Plus, Danny Bonaduce looked like he could definitely kick Cassidy's ass.
The ex-child-star and his wife Gretchen are in the midst of a divorce and Bonaduce is asking for joint custody of their two children ages 12 and 6. To his credit, he's also asking that his wife get $3.3 million of their assets to his $3.2 million. So, if he's a prick at least he's a reasonably fair one. Can you imagine how much tequila that $.1 million could have bought him?
I don't want to hate on Bonaduce too much. My daughter used to attend the same school as his, and he and his wife seemed like pretty involved parents. He even showed up for a story-telling event in his pajamas once to read to the kids. Although, in hindsight maybe it was because Gretchen had kicked him out the night before with just the clothes on his back.
But a few years after I last saw him I turned on the TV to that train wreck, Breaking Bonaduce. What happened to Danny Partridge? He was having a mental breakdown right there on camera, and aside from acting like a psychopath, he looked like someone had stuck him in a food dehydrator set to 'jerky.'
According to Bonaduce, "This divorce couldn't be more amicable. In fact, we're still living in the same house. Gretchen is my best friend, and she still helps me with my career."
