Diego Luna and Gael Bernal, two of Mexico's most heralded young actors, have pretty much been best friends since birth. Both had sons last year only a few months apart. Coincidence? I think not.
During an interview about their upcoming film Rudo y Cursi, Bernal and Luna admitted to Good Morning America that the birth of their boys wasn't such a coincidence -- they totally planned it. Says Luna:
“We were [on] the phone like, ‘Hey, are you ready? I am!’ … You know,
control is not that easy, so [my son] is a little bit older.”
Bernal, 30, laments that his son Lazaro is the younger of the two, and won't have the pleasure of bullying little Geronimo. That's something that Diego, 29, obviously takes some pride in:
“Yeah, revenge is sweet. I have pictures of my kid just abusing Lázaro.”
Rudo y Cursi is set to open in select theaters May 8th.
