And it's a wonderful boy for professional hockey player Tim Conboy and his wife Sheena. The defenseman for the Carolina Hurricanes welcome a new son into the world on Thursday, April 3, all while the Hurricanes were slamming the New York Rangers 4-2.
Gunnar Price Conboy weighed 9 lbs, 2 oz.
Tim says, "I was going to try and make it to the game. We got to the hospital at 6 a.m. They took a look and thought maybe 2 o'clock and I might get to the game." But Gunnar was having no part of that plan.
"I was able to be there with her and witness the birth. It was a happy night for everybody."
Tim, 27, explains Gunnar's name. Both he and Sheena are Irish and Gunnar means "bold warrior. A little bit like I play, kind of."
