Michael Weiss is a professional figure skater and a full time dad. He recently talked about how he juggles the two different worlds successfully.
On one hand his job as a skater is difficult, because it takes him on the road for six months out of the year. The others six months are awesome though, because he gets to be a stay at home dad. During the six months away, he makes sure to call his kids every night to put them to bed and has his family meet up for a few mini vacations so he doesn't miss out completely.
His kids are 9 and 10 and he and his wife recently decided to give them cell phones, because though they are young, they need to be able to call their parents during or after activities. They have a fave five list that includes home, mom, dad and perhaps and aunt and an uncle.
Michael also talked about how landing quadruple toe loop in competition was awesome, but doesn't really compare to the feeling and importance of being a parent.
It sounds like he and his wife have a pretty balanced view of parenting. Why does it seem that men have the work/parenting balance thing so much easier than woman?
