He sure wasn't at the beach with his kids. Matt Lauer was in an accident over the weekend that involved a deer and him on a bicycle.
Oh, so many jokes there.
Anyhoo, Matt was slightly hurt when a deer jumped into his path and he went over the handle bars of his bicycle.
His co-host, Meredith Viera, had some fun with it and laughed a little at Matt's expense. That's okay of course, because she knew he was not seriously injured. She said that Matt, "Thinks the deer was hired by the competition." Not true, Viera insisted. " I hired the deer, but I said, 'Just graze him.'"
She did say that Matt did displace his shoulder and will be on the mend. No word on how long he will be away from the show.
***UPDATE***
Matt actually seperated his shoulder and has to have surgery to repair it. Maybe now Meredith feels bad for making fun, will she be contrite on the show today?
