For the first time publicly, an emotional Prince William, now 26, talked about the pain of losing his mother, Princess Diana. He said he struggles each year on Mother's Day.

William was just 15-years-old when his mother was killed in a tragic car accident in the Pont de l'Alma tunnel in France.
The young heir, gave an impromtu speech at the Child Bereavement Charity in Burton Place, saying, "My mother Diana was present at your launch 15 years ago. Today I am incredibly proud to be able to continue her support to your fantastic charity by becoming your royal patron.
"What my mother recognized then and what I understand now, is that losing a close family member is one of the hardest experiences that anyone can endure. Never able to say the word 'Mummy' again in your life sounds like a small thing.
"However, for many, including me, it is now really just a word - hollow and evoking only memories. I can therefore wholeheartedly relate to the Mother's Day campaign as I too have felt and still feel the emptiness on such a day as Mother's Day."
Can you imagine how hard it must have been for William and his younger brother, Harry? To lose a parent is difficult for a child, but to also be in the public eye while trying to grieve and understand the loss, must have been truly heartbreaking.
Princess Diana would be proud of the boys she raised and I'm sure they think of their mom every day.
