Michael Jackson made a rare public appearance at a press conference on Thursday to announce that he will be performing a series of live concerts in London this summer. The reclusive pop star is rarely photographed and when he is he's often disguised or covered up with scarves and masks. Now, we're starting to see why.
Although Jacko looked healthy considering the recent news regarding his life-threatening illnesses, his cosmetic surgery-sculpted face was still big news. Check out these close-ups:

A source close to Jackson says that he's doing the concerts for the sake of his three children. "Michael’s doing it for his kids. He wanted them to see, at least once, what he did for a living."
That's admirable, and I'm sure his kids will reap some of the financial rewards from the tour as well, but I'm wondering what they think of his, um - unconventional appearance? One look at a photo from his earlier years and they've got to suspect daddy's been under the knife a few too many times.
