Are you serious?  I realize that celebrity "reporting" is by its very nature, absurd, but come on.  Seriously?

The kid probably loves those pants.  So what if they're a little high?  Why does this become an opening to pass judgment on her competency as a mother?  He's dressed appropriately - that is, for the weather - and that's all that matters.

I think it's a great that for someone who is so associated with fashion, she has enough sense of separation that she can let her child be himself, even if it means he appears less than perfect.  That should be applauded, not criticized.

Besides which, isn't the family going through a divorce?  Don't mother and son have bigger issues to worry about?

I love SJP for letting her son pick out his own clothes. Hats off to her for teaching her child to have fun and use clothes as a form of self-expression instead of as a way to judge other people. Because, really, you're making fun of a child's clothes??? You were the girl on the playground who made the rest of us feel badly for not wearing girl colors, and you were the girl in high school who convinced us that we were only beautiful if we wore the right designer labels. Thank god this child is being raised to be strong and confident enough to ward off dull comments like yours without even the least bit effort. He's already one step ahead.

It struck me as odd at the time because she IS so associated w/ fashion & I've got a little guy of my own, then I keep seeing the poor guy in pants WAY to short.

I wouldn't be so quick to ride to her rescue.

She DOES need to buy the kid some new pants & I don't think it says anywhere(other than the conjecture here) that she lets him dress himself.  

Clearly, he needs new pants as those ones are too small. Now what he doesn't *need* are $200 designer pants, but he does need pants that fit.

Other than that, I like that she allows him to dress like a regular kid. It's refreshing.
