Angelina Jolie and her partner Brad Pitt, both received Oscar nods Thursday. Jolie is nominated for Best Actress in a Leading Role for Changeling, and Kung Fu Panda was nominated for Best Animated Feature Film of the Year in which she lends her voice. Pitt is nominated for Best Actor in a Leading Role for The Curious Case of Benjamin Button and the movie was nominated for Best Motion Picture. The pair have released statements on their recognition:
Brad said from Paris, "This is a great honor for the movie, and I'm especially happy for David Fincher, for without him there would be no Ben Button."
Angelina's statement reads, "Working with Clint Eastwood was a reward in itself that will last me a lifetime. To receive a nomination from the Academy on top of that is a privilege beyond any expectation. It has been an exceptional year for acting, and I am honored to be in the company of these talented actors whose performances all deserve this recognition. I am also happy that Kung Fu Panda was noticed by the Academy and proud to be a part of a film my entire family loves so much."
Wouldn't it be cute if they both won? Nah, with six kids, it would probably be hard to keep a couple of gold statues clean. But hey, good luck!
