Lisa Bonet and Jason Momoa Welcome Son with a Doozy of a Name

Posted by Karl Erikson

It's a son for Lisa Bonet and boyfriend Jason Momoa! Lisa gave birth in December, actually, to new son - get this freaking name - Nakoa-Wolf Manakauapo Namakaeha Momoa. Geez, I guess Consonant Warehouse was fresh out of most of the letters.

Nakoa-Wolf has an older sister, 17-month-old Lola Iolani, along with Zoe Isabella, 20, Lisa's daughter with Lenny Kravitz.

Jason's mom explained the new boy's name on Jason's official forum. Nakoa means "warrior," Mana refers to "strength/spirit," and Kaua means "rain." Po means "dark," which calls to mind the conditions during his birth. And Namakaeha is also Jason's middle name. So put all that together and you get "Strong Rainy Dark Warrior." Huh.

Lisa, who has a small part on ABC's "Life on Mars" is 40 and Jason is 29.

Congrats, Lisa and Jason!

What else do we expect from celebrities?  There must be an unwritten rule to name their kids something off the wall, huh?

Wow. I like it.

My son's name has a similar meaning. In a different language though. And not so long, but you also wouldn't be able to spell it. He can though and he is in 1st grade.

And yes, (LOL, Joy!) some people do call him "Timmy" ;-)

Wow that's a whole lot of ignorant comments in one post!  People from other cultures have names that sound different from the names we in the U.S. are used to.  That doesn't make them weird, off the wall, dumb, or strange.  Grow up and understand there are a lot of different languages and cultures in the world.

Obviously you are not familiar with traditional Hawaiian names.  It has nothing to do with celebrity & everything to do with honoring your culture.

Ok, just to set the record straight. I'm from Hawaii and I AM Hawaiian. His first name is Nakoa-Wolfe, last name is Momoa. Manakauapo Namakeha is his middle name. Hawaiians are just the same, we give our children middle name, only thing is its a little longer and it actually means something! So just like a baby named "Kelly Victoria Jones", his name just happens to be Nakoa-Wolfe Manakauapo Namakaeha Momoa. He has two middle names no big deal!! Get it, got it, GOOD!!!

He's not going to be writing his full name when he goes to school people....
