Starting her acting and music career when she was just 15, Brandy Norwood says that growing up in public wasn't always easy, but she "wouldn't trade it for anything." What she experienced as a teen star on shows such as "Moesha" was "beyond anything that I could ever imagine," Brandy says.
But the public eye is not something Brandy wants for her 6-1/2-year-old daughter Sy'rai Iman Smith. She's really hoping that she doesn't go into show business, but "of course if it's something that she wants to really truly do, I will encourage her and support her. I'll show her the ropes for sure."
Brandy, 29, adds, "It's beautiful to have her around and in my life. I don't know what I'd do without her. I don't even remember what life felt like without her so she's definitely an angel."
Brandy just released a new album - "Human" - last week. Her first single, "Right Here (Departed)" is #23 on Billboard's Pop 100 Airplay chart.
