Hollywood Pin-Ups 1940s Style: Celebrities Get Sexy

Posted by Sassy Smith

Photographer Timothy White has used celebrities to re-create the pin-up icons from the 1940s era in a new book titled Hollywood Pin-Ups.  Some of the women who were photographed are Kate Hudson, Cindy Crawford, Susan Sarandon, Rebecca DeMornay, Felicity Huffman (seen above), Jennifer Beals, Denise Richards and Vanessa Williams, to name a few.

Photos after the jump (some slightly NSFW)!

The book was inspired by artist Alberto Vargas, whose famous "Vargas Girls" were featured in Esquire magazine in the 1940s and were later painted on World War II pilot aircrafts.

The L.A. Times said that White didn't want women who looked like 15-year-olds.  "I wanted bodies that were very different.  That was my only critera."

The proceeds of the book will go to Oxfam America.

Susan Sarandon, 62, mom to Eva, Jack and Miles.  OMG the woman is SIXTY-TWO!

Cindy Crawford, 42 - mom to Presley and Kaia

Kate Hudson, 29 - One son, Ryder Russell.

Jennifer Beals, 44 - Has one daughter with Ken Dixon and stepmom to two other children.

Rebecca DeMornay, 49 - Mom to two girls Sophia and Veronica.

Felicity Huffman, 45 - Has two daughters Sofia and Georgia.
