Jo Dee Messina is preggers and she already knows it's a boy! The country cougar, 38, is married to Chris Deffenbaugh, 28, and they just celebrated their 1-year-anniversary. "We knew we wanted to have kids," she says, "but we just said whenever it happens, it happens. And it happened!"
She found out she was pregnant while in the middle of losing weight. When she saw that her weight wasn't dropping like it should, she took a test and "of course, I found out I was pregnant."
Jo Dee is now in her third trimester. "I've gained about 11 pounds, which is good. I'm staying really fit. I run 30 minutes a day and weight train for an hour, 5 days a week. This is all baby!"
In fact, she's in such good shape, she plans on running a 5-mile race on Thanksgiving Day. "I'll be 8 months pregnant and running," Jo Dee laughs. She wants to be back in shape and ready to shoot the video for her song, "Unmistakable," six weeks after giving birth.
As for a concert tour, Jo Dee is planning to tour next year and, yes, she'll be bringing the baby on the road with her. For now, though, Jo Dee and Chris are getting ready for the new arrival. Chris is an "amazing" woodworker and built their son's crib.
"We painted the room," says Jo Dee. "Chocolate brown, with one wall pale green and one with a square design on it. We got new carpet. We haven’t started the whole, 'Let's go to the store and buy tons of stuff' yet, though. Everytime I think about it I get overwhelmed."
Um, chocolate brown and pale green? Guess there's no accounting for taste, no matter how much money you have.
