Good Charlotte guitarist Billy Martin recently blogged that he and wife Linzi will be expecting their first child together and he's dishing on pending fatherhood.

Martin told PEOPLE, "We bought a pregnancy test without even stressing or sweating.  She went to take it, I sat down at my desk, and two minutes later she came out and said, 'I'm pregnant!'  All the sound in the world stopped for a minute.  I was shocked - but excited."

The couple are doing the baby's nursery in Adventures in Wonderland theme and then once they know the sex of the baby, will add either boy or girl accents.

"If it's a girl, maybe more Alice-based, and if it's a boy, more Mad Hatter and Cheshire Cat.  We're not going to do anything dark and spooky that's going to scare the baby.  We want a lighter, happier version."

And Billy will have friend and bandmate Joel Madden to count on for baby advice.  Joel and Nicole Richie welcomed their first daughter, Harlow in January.

Martin says, "Joel says it's going to change my whole world, but fatherhood is the best thing that ever happened to him.  He tells me not to stress out, and to try to take everything in stride and enjoy it because it's the coolest thing that can happen to you."

Billy and Linzi will welcome their new baby sometime in January.
