Matt Damon, 37, took a trip out to war torn Haiti this weekend to help bring some relief from the terrible hurricanes, four of which have hit the country this season. Matt Damon went with singer Wyclef Jean, who was born in Haiti, and they handed out food bags and medicine to the many newly homeless residents. Hurricane Ike killed hundreds there.
Damon is encouraging everyone to help the United Nations raise more than $100 million in aid. "Hopefully, we can make enough noise that people will pay attention," he said. "I truly believe in the people of my country."
Damon, star of the popular Jason Bourne movie series, is married to Luciana Barroso. Together they have two girl, Isabella, 2, and Gia Zavala, who was just born last month. Damon is also a stepdaddy to Alexia from Luciana's previous marriage.
Matt has several movies slated for next year: "The Informant," "The Human Factor," and the as-of-yet unnamed Bourne 4.
