Matthew McConaughey: Nanny Ain't Alright, Alright or Little Levi and the Longboard

Posted by Whit Honea

Matthew McConaughey doesn't want a nanny for baby Levi.

According to a source, "If Matt could breastfeed the baby himself, he would. The house is getting messier and neither Matt or Camila are getting much sleep. Camila wants to hire someone but Matthew strongly objects - he thinks at least for the first few months he and Camila should be the only ones caring for Levi."

Living in a trailer without a nanny- Camila must be thrilled.  Still, I've got to go Camp Matt on this one.  They've got nothing but time and money, parent up, cowboy.

If most parents in the world can do it, why can't they? I never had a nanny and did just fine, my husband had no problem pitching in to help and feed the baby in the middle of the night to let me sleep a few hours longer. McCounnaghey just got more respect from me now.

Well, but maybe the issue isn't the nanny as much as it is someone to help out with the "everything else".  Now, I sure as heck don't have a nanny, but when my first child was born my parents came up for a week to help us get caught up on laundry, dishes, meals, etc., so that all I had to worry about was the baby and sleeping.  Maybe that's all that's needed....

I'm impressed by Matt.

I had no help after coming home w/ my 3rd (2 toddlers at home)had a c-section and my hubby had to go right back to work....we do what we have to do for our kids...you know going in babies are alot of work...I hate those whiny parents......just b/c they have the money doesn't mean they have to automatically hire a nanny....thats not real parenting....little Levi might actually grow up kowing his parents and not a set of nannies....

Good for you Matt!

goddess - I couldn't agree more. My 3rd (also 2 toddlers at home) was actually born the same day as Matt's and while things are still a mess but that is the way it's supposed to be. It's Baby Boot Camp and once it's gone you will long for those crazy early days of parenting.

That being said, I wonder how much Matt helps out with the rest of the household  chores.... why do men have such a high tolerance for mess anyway?
