A lot of celebrities try to hide the fact that they are pregnant. However, no matter how hard they try, they don't often succeed in fooling the public, especially people like me, who, see a tiny bit of bloat and then decide that they must be with child. I think that's perhaps how rumors get started. Ah, but that's half the fun right - seeing if that bump is indeed a baby growing or just one too many In-And-Out Burgers? But then we have the celebrities who really are pregnant but for whatever reason (I guess, technically it's none of our damn business) don't want to make an announcement early on or even at all, still trying their best to fool us. Oh, but you can't, we are much too crafty! Here are my Top Five Celebrity Pregnancy Denials:
5. Angelina Jolie & Brad Pitt - They didn't necessarily deny being pregnant for the second time (we later found out they were expecting twins, thanks to Jack Black of all people), but they certainly didn't make any announcements. They knew, I'm guessing, early on they were having twins, and of course a pregnancy with multiples can often have complications, particularly early into the pregnancy. Angie and Brad probably just wanted to wait until they knew everything was okay before they said anything - except they didn't exactly say anything. They attended the Independent Spirit Awards in February of this year, and Angelina was wearing a black, very clingy dress, which left nothing to the imagination. It was a "visible" announcement if you will. As in, 'hey bitches, I'm carrying another spawn of my very hot boyfriend, Brad Pitt.' At least that's the way I read it. They brought their twins into the world on July 12 - Knox and Vivienne join Maddox, 6, Pax, 4, Zahara, 3, and Shiloh, 2. Oh, and they want more kids. Of course!
4. Nicole Kidman & Keith Urban - Rumors were a buzzin' on the world wide web that the pretty Aussie actress and her hunky country star husband, Keith were pregnant with their first child together. But, soon, came the denials. Nope Nicole isn't pregnant. Not true, not true, not true. We here at Famecrawler didn't believe it and well, we were right. Nicole's rep confirmed her pregnancy just one week later. See? You aren't getting anything by us! We are too detective like. They've since welcomed daughter Sunday Rose, now three weeks old. She joins older siblings Isabella, 15, and Connor, 13, (dad is Tom Cruise).
3. Jennifer Lopez & Marc Anthony - The popstar couple are first time parents to twins, Max and Emme, now 5-months-old and they denied their pregnancy until Jennifer's 5th month - and it may not have been their intention to make any announcements at that time but it was becoming much harder to find clothes that would hide her growing bump and when, at a concert, her shirt blew up, exposing her pregnant belly, well it's kinda, sorta, difficult to deny it at that point. Might as well go with the flow. JLo spilled her secret (uh, not so secret, secret) at the American Airlines Arena concert and the crowd went wild. She said, "Marc and I are expecting," and then Marc bent down and kissed her belly. Sweet. Again, weren't fooling anyone!
2. Gwen Stefani & Gavin Rossdale - This sexy rockin' musically inclined couple are due any day with their second (rumored to be a boy) child and they too did their fair share of denying the pregnancy rumors floating around. Once again, and I know I sound like a broken record, but we were right. Gwen did her best to fend off the 'with child' rumors, but it didn't work. No matter how hard she protested, she wasn't convincing. Gwen announced less than 2 weeks later, near the end of January 2008, that she was 13 weeks preggo. Don't these celebrity folks ever learn? We can sniff out those baby bumps, even in the very beginning! Yes, we are that good.
1. Ashlee Simpson & Pete Wentz - These two couldn't decide whether they wanted to confirm or deny - so they did both, several times. Pete had said, after the first round of pregnancy rumors started, “There is a witch hunt for people to be pregnant whenever they get engaged in Hollywood. This is all news to me.” Soon after he sort of confirmed it, yet Ashlee was denying it. They could have tattooed the denials on their backs or Pete could have written it in black eyeliner on a billboard, but we still knew they were expecting a visit from the stork. And oh snap! we got it right. Ashlee and Pete soon got on the same page and then told the world, what the world already knew - yes, they're pregnant with their first child. The pair tied the knot in May and are rumored to be having a girl and a C-section.
Now, we just have to wait for a few more celebrities to make their announcements - Paris Hilton? Eva Longoria? Victoria Beckham? Katie Holmes?
