She definitely should not be smoking in front of her kids.  Everyone knows the health risks, not to mention she's supposed to be a role model for them.  I shudder to think what she inhaled and consumed while pregnant.

That is the dumbest thing i ever heard.  its not illegal to smoke right?  

Sarah Jessica Parker smokes does anyone say she is a bad mother because of it?  This is absurd!  Stop picking on this girl -- I have had enough.

It's certainly not ideal to be smoking in front of your kids, but before they knew so much about the dangers of smoking and pregnancy, my mom smoked through all three pregnancies and didn't quit until we were in our 20s. And we were all large, healthy infants who grew up into healthy, non-smoking adults. I'm sure there are a lot of us who were born in the '50s, '60s, and '70s with the same background.

This seems like just one more attempt to attack this poor girl, who really doesn't need this.

Smoking in front of kids is not ok.

Kids whose parents smoke are much more likely to be smokers themselves.

Parents ARE role models for their children and like it or not celebrities are role models for everyone's children.

My parents NEVER smoked, EVER. and now I do. But never in front of my son, I wait till he's in bed and out of site.

In her defence, at least it was outside where the effects would be far less than indoors. On the other hand, it sets a very poor example. Parents smoking in front of the kids is a very strong factor in getting kids starting smoking themselves. Also leaving lighters and matches around where kids can get them is a recipe for disaster. And I sure hope she doesn't smoke indoors around them. That would be much more unhealthy for them than smoking near them outdoors.

It's just sad to see how he's really taking in what she's doing.  

And yes, smoking in front of children and exposing them to smoke either indoors or outdoors is just plain wrong.  Second hand smoke is toxic to children and other living things, bottom line, it kills.  

How is this acceptable at all??  Giving him a sip of beer would actually be less dangerous in my opinion (in terms of health risks, NOT the addiction component).

Thanks to my lovely mother and her smoking, my sister and I had some severe health problems when we were younger.  Because she had to smoke around us, we got the pleasure of lots of doctors visits and hospitalization.  

Yes, you are a bad parent if you choose to smoke within breathing distance of your children.  People can justify and rationalize - it's legal!  my mom did it and I'm "fine!"  I do it and my kids are "fine!  "Leave Britney alone!"

Whatever.  I'm calling BS.  Those precious children are more important than Britney's addiction.  Being a parent is not easy, and being responsible is not always fun.  But taking care of your children is priority number one.

And to make it worse, she left cigarettes and a lighter within reach of a toddler.  Lovely. I personally have taken care of babies and toddlers with burns and nicotine poisoning from getting into lighters and cigarettes.  It's awful, and it's disgusting that parents do not protect their children from obvious health hazards.

leave her alone for goodness sake the fact is A LOT of women smoke and have children. Yes she is a celebrity and should be a role model but look at the photo - shes in her house relaxing!  No-ones perfect, she obviously loves her sons more than anything the poor womans been through hell, Give her a break.
