I am a 21 year old single mom of a beautiful 5 week old baby girl :o) Does this make me a bad mother because i'm so young and not married?? Or does that mean my life is over because I have a baby now? NO! My life has just begun! I LOVE being a mom! I am personally proud of Jamie Lynn for having this baby and keeping her. Yes, she may get help from her family and nannies...isn't that what family is for? To help you out during hard times? I know I couldn't have made it through all this without mine. Maybe she will be a good mommy, unlike her sister, you never know. Age does not define how good of a parent you are...

I think that people are way too judging of other's and their lives.. There are so many kids who get pregnant before they are "mature" enough, but what matters is that they try their best to give their child a good life, full of love. Jamie Lynne seems to be more than happy being a mother, and that's what is important. I don't think its fair for everyone to judge her and talk badly about her when they do not even know her. As for her sister, she loves her kids too, and I don't think she is a bad mom, just troubled; as to why her parents are helping her out.. So if you think about it, whats the difference between being 16 and being 26.. It's all about how you handle things and how mature you are about it.

Reading these comments are too funny.  It's almost like being in a yahoo chat room seeing the way y'all argue over whether a tv celebrity is going to be a good mom or not because of their age or marital status at the time they have a child.  Maybe the ones who have a problem with it should check back into their heritage and find out just how old their grandparents were when they first had children.  I know back in the old days, a woman would be considered a spinster if they were over the age of 20 with no children or spouse.  I know alot of them were having children between the ages of 14 and 16.  If they had done such an aweful job being parents at such a young age, most of us wouldn't be here.

My son and I are doing great. Nannies don't raise him. My sister babysits him on Fridays and Saturdays so his dad and I can work, but otherwise it's me or his dad. We're doing great and we're going to have a great life. Both of us are going to finish high school and go to college. We're both extremely smart, we just got a little too ahead of ourselves and I ended up pregnant. It's okay though, we're going to be fine and so is our son and our other future children.

Being 17, broke and alone is very different then being Jaime Lynn Spears.  The issues with being 17 and a mother are not moral ones, they are about being able to support yourself and give a baby everything it needs and a lot of what it wants.  Jamie Lynn will never want for anything  and neither will her baby.  If she just focuses on being a supportive mom, her kids will be great.  Most young moms can't focus on the baby because they have to focus on finding work w/o a diploma, making ends meet and getting immature boys to grow-up and take responsibility, I think Jaime is covered.

I'm not going to fight with everyone like a lot of you are doing. Everyone has their opinion. I personally think Jamie Lynn Spears is doing a great job. She's a young hollywood mother who had a baby at 17, if your friend had a baby when you two were 17 you would help her out and not bash her and talk about her negatively. So what if Jamie Lynn was on nick? Her boyfriend and her have been together for a while, IT'S HER CHOICE. She's amazing for keeping her child, and not putting it in a tabloid frenzy situation. Her daughter has only been in 'Ok' magazine, and those are the only pictures you'll find of her daughter. She's doing an amazing job for her age, and her family is going to help her, yes, but that is what family is for.

I honestly don't understand why people got so appalled when Jamie Lynn got pregnant. Jamie Lynn has been a great role model to her viewers on zoe 101 and nothing now she is a great role model to any teenage girl who finds herself in Jamie Lynn's position. She has been responsible during her pregnancy and so far, has appeared to be very excited about starting this new chapter in her life. I think it is very respectable that she had the baby and is going to raise her when so many girls her age and younger act irresponsibly when they get pregnant.

Like said before age does not matter in order to have a child. But motherhood is also a thing that develops as the child grows. You will not know what to do until you are in that situation. I'm a 22 yr old university student, not married and don't have children, however I do have friends who do. And all of them have at least said once that raising a child is not an easy thing to do, and when your a teenager yourself trying to figure out the meaning of your own life yourself, it becomes complicated. None of them regret having their babies, but that's because they're responsible and strong people. Age does not define how good of a mother you are, but personnally, i think parenting is not an easy thing no matter how old you are, and the younger you are the harder it is.

But if a mistake happened and the teenager assumes her responsibilities thats great. Because if you have sex, you should know about the consequences, no matter what age you are.

Is this for real? How do so many of you think that having a baby at 16 is a good thing? A baby is a huge responsibility and can ruin your chance to experience many other good things. I love kids, and i am 16, but would never consider having a baby before I am married, have gone to college, and am fully ready to take on such another life in my hands. ok- yes it's not ideal to get pregnant at such a young age...and yes it's a mistake.  But the bigger mistake is to not make the most out of situations.  everything happens for a reason, and once your pregnant, you become a mother and thats beautiful!!! no matter what your age!! and life doesnt end when you have a baby- a new life begins and yours changes, and im sure if you ask any mother, even a teen mother, they would say that their lives are better with their children in it!!!
