Hookups, pregnancies, bump watches, engagements and wedding bells - a lot happens in Hollywood.  Now it seems, there's one celebrity couple that just can't seem to make it work.

We heard the rumor (and saw the photo) that actress Kate Hudson was flashing a big bauble, starting tongues wagging that she was engaged to Owen Wilson - turns out that bling was a fake engagement ring being used for filming her current movie Bride Wars.

Now, just days after the couple denied their engagement, the pair have split.  A source told People magazine:

"It was a pretty bad breakup.  Owen said it was a tough one. He definitely doesn't want to dwell on it. He wants to put it behind him."

I guess that means no babies for the couple either.  That's too bad.
