Custody Battle Waged a War Within Heath Ledger

Posted by Karen

A lengthy story has surfaced over the weekend, claiming that Heath Ledger's drug use was the result of him being torn up over not seeing his daughter, Matilda Rose.  Apparently Michelle Williams was about to sling some serious accusations at the late actor and request sole custody of their 2 year old daughter.

An apparent close friend from Heath's inner circle, Rebecca White, had way too much to say.  With friends like her, who needs enemies?

White tells press that Ledger had a drug problem that intensified after the break up with Williams.  It became so bad, he began to rely on sleeping pills.

Heath had told friends that Michelle was planning to tell the court that he was a bad influence on Matilda.

White is quoted as saying, "Heath believed Michelle was going for sole custody.

"She wanted nothing to do with him and many of his friends believed that in the last couple of weeks that really pushed him over the edge. He was getting more reckless than ever with cocaine and heroin.

"His use of downers - sleeping pills and anti-anxiety pills and antidepressants- was also getting heavier because he needed them to sleep."

"Heath was a very shy, insecure man. But in celebrity circles you need something to ground you, and for him that was being a father and the idea that Michelle might still take him back and they might still be a family.

"Even though he was seeing other women, there was one side of him that still wanted their relationship to work. But there was also the side that depended on drugs because he felt like a fish out of the water.

"He was not the type to have killed himself. The way I hear it, he went out the night before, he was doing cocaine, he wasn't able to sleep, and the investigators think he woke up, didn't remember taking sleeping pills and then took what accidentally was an overdose."

White went on to say that Williams and Ledger were a mismatch from the start:

"It was this movie-set romance and Michelle got unexpectedly pregnant. It absolutely would not have lasted if she hadn't.

"He was still seeing other women. Heath was an Adonis and she was dowdy and not in his league - careerwise or looks-wise - and no one could understand why they got together. I knew Heath used drugs because the first time I met him, at Puff Daddy's house in Los Angeles, Heath asked Naomi for cocaine. At another party in Paris, Heath took at least six Ecstasy pills, popped them in his mouth all at once and swigged them with a bottle of champagne.

"He was a partygoer and Michelle was quite straight. But when she got pregnant, Michelle was determined to have the baby. Heath wanted to do the right thing and stick by her."

But Williams was horrified by the company Ledger was keeping.

Ms White said: "Michelle kicked Heath out because he would be showing up all hours of the night with this band of hangers-on and doing drugs.

"Michelle started to talk about going for sole custody. She wanted to be responsible 100 per cent.

"She felt he couldn't be responsible for the baby because he wasn't responsible for himself.

"He got deeper and deeper into drugs as his fears of losing Matilda increased."

Don't shoot the messenger.  I don't like this story or the fact that this woman came along and blurted all this out, whether it is true or she has sold a story.

I just wish we could let the man, a father to a little girl, rest in peace.

Otally believe every word.  It was obvious he was on drugs for some time.  I can understand why she left him.  That is not a good parent.

I would not believe a word Rebecca White has to say.  She is known to sell out her former employers and try to use her "inside knowledge" for personal gain.

The truth is the truth, what is behind the truth is what makes the difference and I dont believe anyone but Heath knows the truth behind taking drugs. It is indeed, very sad that death is the result of those decisions he made. What ever the reasons, he will be missed by many.

I don't believe a word this woman has to say.  All kinds of quacks come out of the woodwork after someone famous dies to get their fifteen minutes of fame and a fast buck.  It really doesn't matter how or why it happened.  It is still a tragedy.  A tragedy of a huge magnitude for poor little Matilda.  This woman was no friend to Heath.  He wanted his personal life kept private im sure both in life an death.  A friend never would have betrayed his trust the way she has.  Shame on her!!

So, because he was into drugs, this woman claims Michelle wanted to take his parental rights to see their child away (understandable), so instead of doing what needed to be done to retain the rights of a responsible parent - the one thing he valued more than anything in the world - this crackpot is suggesting that he was DRIVEN to do the very thing that was causing him to lose that right in the first place?  What a load of crap.  It sounds like pure rubbish to me.

Did it ever occur to anyone that Heath and Michelle broke up because Heath just would NOT marry her despite the fact that they had a child together? He is quoted as saying more than once that he does not believe in "legislating love" or needing a piece of paper to prove the depth of his love for her.  I mean, they got a marriage license and everything just months before they broke up...perhaps it was his ditch effort to appease her or prove his intent but in the end he kept stalling and, as a result, they broke up?  It would explain why they were both very depressed about their break up...because they still loved each other very much but this one thing was getting between them.  His manwhoring immediately after their break-up was an effort to fill that void and to maybe get her jealous enough to say "I'm sorry, I want you back! We don't have to be married!"  Nobody will probably ever know...but this scenario is entirely feasible.

Knowing Rebecca White personally and being from her hometown, DO NOT BELIEVE THIS CRAP.  She is notorious in her hometown for betraying even her closest friends.  Not to mention the fact that between 2001 and 2004 she WAS NOT working with Naomi Campbell, since she was too busy scamming people, ripping off her friends, and stealing money from her own restaurant business (to the point that her employees could not even cash their paychecks!) to support her own drug habits.  She has never learned the value of hard work and instead resorts to selling any tidbit possible about celebrities that she worked with in the past for a quick and easy payday.  While her dirty tactics to make money has been relatively harmless and dismissed in the past, her exploitation of the death of Heath Ledger is absolutely sickening and reprehensible.  Her complete disregard for the many people who are suffering from the tragic loss of a young man is absolutely disgusting and unforgivable.  Heath Ledgers alleged drug habits are not surprising to anyone, and the lifestyle he led is similar to many, but Ms. White's allegations are misplaced and serve no purpose other than to defame a young man that cannot even defend himself and to further exacerbate the suffering of those mourning his death....

It is utterly shameful and heartless.  Rebecca, maybe you can use some of your earnings from this ordeal to finally pay your debts.

as a former friend of becky white i can say only one thing, well maybe a few. i applaud her ability to cash in on a tragedy. it is not everyday that you find someone who can kick dirt in the face of people so shamelessly. especially when they are unable to defend themselves. even though heath ledger has not the first clue who rebecca white even is. far be it for me to point the finger at someone who knows someone that got him coffee once and then claims a personal relationship with them. unless heath hungout at the tavern in litchfeild ct for the suspected years of kinship, then i must know him as well. and i do not. this is puke in your mouth disgusting. i never personally got becky coffee, but if there are no sort of boundries in respect for people, i can tell you, we used other substances to maintain awareness.  please out of the respect of this tradgedy, honor heath as an amazing actor and not believe some ho that doesn't even know him. i wish his family and friends well and they will remain in my prayers. i am so sorry that i even was ever affiliated or was ever even nice to such a cold reptile. god bless your family and friends.

Truly, it takes a brave individual to stand up and be this low to the dearly departed. I can't even imagine what kind of fame seeking harlot would go for the a low blow like this.

Has Ms.White no shame?

Has Ms. White no sense of remorse?

This is truly a ghoulish display of grave robbing without a shovel. The worst kind of criminal himself would be proud of the exacting nature of the destruction of a complete stranger. I'd love to see the track record of the person who knows Mr. Ledger so well. Who else does she know? Where did the money come from for the drugs? I want receipt. Some people are missing W-4s, but that is just overwhemling hersay. But from what I've heard, most of the taxes went up a nostril or two, or three, whatever.

Call me when you get some news about what next celebrity leaves too soon. I see a pattern here, don't you? Whatever The Sun is paying you, I'll double it in a way that would make Tony Montana jealous.

Aussie, Aussie, Aussie!

We'll miss you Heath.

i know becky and am personally not very proud of it at this time. thank the dear lord i never really liked her much. now it is apparent why. somewhere along this nauseating mayheim the important thing was lost. an amazing admirable man was taken to heaven. i don't know heath ledger more than him being a hot celebrity to me. if i saw a poster of him i would buy it. that is the extent of it. he was very talented and was a father. let me say that again, a father. i must have missed the 2nd tox report because the one that was released on cnn revealed no illegal substances. i don't personally know him and quite frankly it is none of any of our buisness. what fumigates me is that this lying peice of scum can come from right feild and trample on a grave that isn't even there yet. she should be ashamed and want to play in traffic for what she is doing. she has never even met him. im sure of it. can people grieve in peace. you know the people who loved and cared for him so dearly. care and pray for his loved ones. not drag his honor through the feces that she posseses within herself. she not only puts the icing on the cake but she even lit the candles. much love to the family and my prayers are with you all.

I'm disgusted on a level that I can't put into words. Who the hell is this woman? What's with the lack of sources? This isn't news, this is garbage. I saw a celebrity or two in my day, that doesn't mean I know what they were thinking, I didn't know about what was going on with their kids.

Just becaue I passed someone on the subway doesn't make me their shrink. How close was this person? Was she on the set of his last film? I'd love to know how they did the Joker make-up. But I doubt this wingnut knows.

Where was this person when all this SEEMED to happen?  There's no way that someone who would come out later and sell the story and then say they were close. I don't think so. If I had to pick someone to tell my story, I'd pick those closest to me, not some yahoo from the hills of Connecticut.

Maybe all of what she says is true.

But she does know somebody who saw somebody who knew a second cousin that rode an elevator with a dude who was married to a guy whom once waited a table where a guy SWORE he knew the guy who made Gilligan's hat. Honest. Sell THAT one.

This is about as true as Rosie beating up Hulk Hogan for the World Title. A cage match. No, really.

In closing, please, call Dr. Phil. Maybe he can help you.

Who knows? You might get famous...

...or paid.

We all know what you'd choose.

Hollywood is never gonna change.  Whats sad is that... even when a tragedy happens, everyone STILL talks.  They are normal people trying to live normal lives.  Even AFTER death people STILL can't leave them alone??  That's pathetic.  Let people be!  Why is everyone so obsessed with what these people are doing, what colour panties they are wearing, what clubs they go to!  Who fucking cares!!!!  Let them do what they want!!  No one Britney is on the verge of gettin' locked up in a mental hospital....or Heath killed himself...Or Paris was in jail.  The freaking public is what causes this.  As ufortuante as it is... the public needs to let these people rest in peace, and continue living their lives.  They do stupid things?  They should live with the consequences.  Freaking Hollywood.  Seriously.
