While in Australia continuing to overpromoting Bee Movie, Seinfeld spoke with ABC's Enough Rope with Andrew Denton, to air tonight, Seinfeld agreed part of him had been quietly writing a show about marriage. Better than nothing, which is what his last sitcom was about.
"There is, 'cos all my friends are married and I always think of all
the stuff that we do, you know, I would love to do it in a sitcom,"
said Seinfeld, who married Jessica Sklar in 1999.
"And I guess if I did another sitcom it would be about marriage. I'd just call it 'Mrs Seinfeld'."
Oh darn, I had high hopes. I mean, if the first sitcom was such a success and based on nothing, than having another sitcom based on something would be interesting and funny too. But then he had to throw Mrs. Seinfeld in there and she isn't exactly well-liked. Unless of course he means his mother, or his grandmother. Anybody but Jessica "I'll smack your food outta your mouth" Seinfeld.
Maybe he should stick to writing about nothing. Like me.
He went on to talk about marriage and kids and how they changed his ife:
"To me, the funny thing about being single, I had married friends
and I wouldn't visit them . . . because I thought their life was so
pathetically depressing," he said.
"Now that I'm married and I have single friends, I feel I don't
really like to be with them now 'cos I find their lives trivial and
meaningless. And I think in both cases I was correct."
