With rumors swirling that he had died, Gene Simmons missed his chance to garner some sympathy.  Instead, he surfaced today on the lackluster list of celebrities willing to be humiliated by toupee-king Donald Trump on The Celebrity Apprentice. Looks like Simmons won't be rock and rolling all night and partying every day.

The show had boasted for months about the "stellar talent" it was assembling for the celebrity version of The Apprentice, but by the looks of this list one wonders if we mistook "stellar" for "in the cellar."  Joining KISS musician Simmons are country singer Trace Adkins, former model Carol Alt,  former Taxi star Marilu Henner, former Olympic medalist Nadia Comaneci and former heavyweight boxing champ Lennox Lewis.  And those are the recognizable names. 

Since rumors of the notoriously self-promoting Simmons' death came less than 48 hours before the show's announcement, I think we all know who started it.  You're fired!
