Reports of Angelina Jolie's adoption of daughter, Zahara, came into question the other day when Zahara's biological family appeared to be wanting her back.
The Ethiopian adoption agency which conducted Angelina Jolie's adoption of her eldest daughter Zahara in 2006, is supporting the actress over reports that the little girl's family wants her back. Family members of Zahara, 2, including the woman who says she is her birth mother, are demanding that Zahara be returned to them.
The Daily Mail, however, is reporting that, Tsegaye Berhe, the head of Wide Horizons for Children, which conducted the adoption, insists that it was "legal and irrevocable." That must be a huge relief for Angelina and her partner I check my nutsack at the door, Brad Pitt. I'm relieved. Aren't you relieved?
Mentewab Dawit Lebiso, the woman claiming to be Zahara's biological mother, told America's In Touch magazine earlier this week she wanted her daughter to 'come home to regain her identity'.
"I want my daughter to come home to see where she is from. Her grandmother and I both tried very hard to raise her, and I want her to come home to regain her identity," she said.
Lebiso also claimed that Zahara had been conceived when she was raped by a stranger who broke into her home. She claims that after she gave birth, she was so overwhelmed that she ran away, leaving the baby behind and then her mother, allegedly put Zahara up for adoption. Now the family, however, is saying that they were misled about the adoption and were told that they would be able to see Zahara again and have some contact with her. Obviously that has not happened.
Mentewab has said, "My mother was very sad. At one point she was even thinking of trying to find a way to bring her grandchild back. But she has no money, so she can't." I'm quite certain, the icequeen Angelina did everything that she was supposed to do to make sure the whole process was binding and legal. Whew!
