If you're like me, you're already thinking about holiday gifts for your baby or kids and you're also wondering how you're going to deal with another gigantic mass of plastic. (Especially, if you're in small space!) The Busy Zoo by Parents is made of wood and is a great alternative to those plastic activity tables.

The Busy Zoo doesn't light up or sing, so you won't get all those songs stuck in your head and you won't need to change the batteries. Instead, your child can sing! This beautifully designed activity cube has five sides of toys that encourage abstract thinking, problem solving, and help your child develop motor skills. This toy is recommended for 12 months and up, but I think it would also be great for younger babies, too. Just plop them in front of the Zoo and let them play!

Picnic Table Craft Table From P'Kolino

We've written before about the kids funiture from P'Kolino, and now they've got a new activity table for kids that matches the rest of their collection. It looks fun and modern, but is a picnic-bench type of table best for you?

I can imagine this type of table being perfect for some playrooms. In apartments or other places where space is at a premium, this might be the perfect solution. But in my house, one of the best aspects of the activity table is my kids can take the chairs and move them around. Not to mention the fact that I've sat down at the table once or twice myself. Plus, with the bench attached to the table, it would have been hard for my youngest to get to the table with her sister when she was learning to walk.

But either way, if you're shopping for a play table for your kids this one is worth checking out.

Remember when we were kids and toys didn't beep and boop and flash, but just, you know, were toys? This wooden activity table from Little Wonderland will easily hold its own against its animatronic counterparts; there's a shape sorter, stacking magnetic animals, spinning beads, and more. And at $65, it's on par with the noisy plastic models that make you want to gouge out your eardrums.
