However, their 8-month-old, Rhys, did inspire them to make globetrotting just a tad bit easier and they put their heads together to create 100% brightly colored cotton carrying cases, shoes, diaper bags and sun hats designed for tough travel. These hand loomed creations from the Canadian Rockies are also made for show; the cute striped cotton crib shoes with leather soles are a nice alternative to your Robeez. Bonus - for that personal touch, when you order them, you get a card from the actual seamstress who stitched them.

What I found to be the most clever were the little labels on the tote, so you know exactly where your spoon, baby food, tissues and bib belong. Because when you're on the move, you will appreciate good directions. Close-ups of the totes after the jump.

It's like a flatware holder, but for babies!

It knows where things go.

Children's Club Expo & Fashion Show: Esme 'Loungewear'

I can’t even begin to tell you how distressing this whole
lingerie for kid’s concept is to me. Because it sexualizes a toddler? Yes.
Because it makes tiny girls conscious of dressing up their genitalia? Yes. But
most of all I’m freaking because I was drawn to this booth because of the
company name. It’s my daughter’s name. And they’re peddling smut. Dear god,
what’s next?

Oregon just feel a little brighter, a
little smarter, a little… dare I say cooler? These clothes from the Po-town
designers (or nearby Vancouver, WA
– close ‘nuff), Trent and Melissa Nash, otherwise known as Knuckleheads are the
couple’s answer to ‘why can’t we find any good boy clothes?’ The Nash family
designs their own retro-modern knits with a mix of colors as well as the
non-trad liberal use of black. With names like 'Lil’ Duke' for the tops and 'Greaser'
pants, these are certainly going to hold up when your little bruiser goes nuts
on the playground.

looked at these new designs by Paula Corley for Matilda & Company. That’s
probably because the same kitchen towel my grandmother had embroidered was hanging on their
rack in the form of an infant dress. Before I could ask Corley why she was
stealing linens from my grammy, the rest of the collection of vintage and
retro-reproductions transformed into party dresses, separates and even one-of-a-kind
bibs made me awwww, in delight. This So Cal mom of two has created a warm (and
washable) line that caught my eye in a sea of hundreds of exhibitors at the
Children’s Club Expo. To see more of what you will covet, check out their site.
And pay attention to your local kid’s clothing store, because after this year’s
Expo, I’m sure we’ll be seeing a lot more of Matlida & Company. Chris Jordan noticed these beautiful threads too, and seems quite keen on them.

Another adorable picture, after the jump.

Awwwww!
One of the biggest and boldest appearances at The Children’s
Club this week was by Vermont
kid’s clothes operation, Zutano. Zutano’s goal has always been to make
beautiful, bright and unique clothing for your little ones and as they unveiled
their latest collection, it looks like they’re ready for their beach house
rental with these playful additions to the toddler and infant line. While you and I may still be sweating out the warmest fall of all time,
Zutano’s ‘Swedish Fish’ line reminds us that the warm weather is only, um, six
months away. That is, if it would ever leave.
