• Droolworthy: Rock, Rattle and Roll with the Naef Dolio

  Designed for Naef by Peer Clahsen, this Dolio rattle is baby nirvana on a stick. Bright colors, natural hardwoods, lots of balls to pull and chew on and to make a satisfying racket when the rattle is, um, rattled. At $39 (from Kido) I might staple it to the kid's sleeve rather than risk it going missing at the supermarket, but whatever. Details.   This pains me, truly, as I am a huge fan of Melissa & Doug wooden toys as a general rule. But it needs to be said: A lacing sneaker toy? It says the "sturdy wooden high-top sneaker is the perfect size toy for kids to learn how to lace and tie over and over again!" You could pay $9.97 for it at WonderBrains, or -- here's a crazy idea -- you could just hand your child one of his own damn shoes.
